Dave was right. The pills wear off in 4 hrs. As I get the new pills I have to hit the dial a smile.

The Hipster lives!

Now about those vampire nurses...

Porsche-poor 08-20-2012 05:37 AM

Morning all. Off to slave some more.

Glen give it time you will be back up and running in no time.

In the words of Rick (on facebook),

Ouch!

I lowsided my bike today on the top sweeper of Mulholland. I think I used a little too much of the edge of the rear tire. The center has no grooves left but the edges have tread blocks so I think I leaned over too far and the tread started to squirm but I did not save it. Normally the rear scrubs a bit approaching the apex and I can control it but this time I was not quick enough.

Good thing is I had a helmet and it was not a high side like Casey Stoner's or Nicky Hayden's at Indy this weekend. Nothing broken on me or the bike.

Bad thing is that I have some pretty good road rash on my right side. Just seconds after the crash I was up and saw blood dripping onto the road. I left my chin up there. As it was happening I was wishing I had one of those BMW/mtb style helmets with the chin guard. Gloves would have been nice as well.

There is a divot in my chin now. I don't think I will have any hair groving back there in a patch about the size of a quarter, just scar tissue.

My jeans are torn up and my shirt is all bloody so I need to replace those now too.

Max, what are trying to join the cripple's gang? I will send you a copy of my handicap parking permit and you can display that next to Richard's foot picture. You can be an honorary member, you don't need to really hurt yourself.

GH85Carrera 08-20-2012 01:40 PM

Unlike Max, I am getting better. They removed the dial a smile. That is the 1st step to going home. Hopefully tomorrow. I have some stockings now that are helping the swelling go away. With luck I can get home tomorrow.

Back from doc. Says foot is looking good and doing well. Put some more pixie dust on it, took away my pain meds, told me to stay off it, keep it elevated, and come back in two weeks. I am one of only 2 people in Oklahoma getting this pixie dust treatment.

porsche4life 08-20-2012 02:46 PM

I don't really think thats a short list you want to be on RKD....

Rick V 08-20-2012 02:48 PM

I am not joining by choice. But ***** happens on bikes. It is nothing compared to you or Richard.

;)

I don't need any pain meds but I would like some hot nurses. I would even accept hot vampire nurses. :) But, I hate being in the hospital so I guess that won't happen.

I plan on riding tomorrow as my bike is ok. That is one of the few things that would stop me from riding.

Porsche-poor 08-20-2012 03:53 PM

afternoon all. ruff work day. beer in hand......

Rick V 08-20-2012 03:57 PM

Porsche-poor 08-20-2012 03:59 PM

GH85Carrera 08-20-2012 04:15 PM

Wow what an ordeal. The IV port that was in me had plugged up. It had to be removed. They needed to give me another IV port. 1st try was on the side of my right wrist. NFG 2nd try was same vein further up my arm. NFG 3rd try was a different nurse and she tried the back of my hand. NFG. Different nurse different spot again NFG. On the next Attempt an old battle ax was brought up from the ER. She just went for the sign in the bend of the elbow. That one worked. Now I get antibiotic for 1.5 hrs.

Rick V 08-20-2012 04:18 PM

Are they thinking an infection or just playing it safe?

GH85Carrera 08-20-2012 04:18 PM

I love old battle axes. I like the looks of the hotties, but I want a battle ax to be my nurse.

GH85Carrera 08-20-2012 04:29 PM

We are all are worried about infection. All the cultures they have taken have shown no biological stuff at all.
