Well the roll bar in the Boxster would make a good mounting point some velcro straps, yeah I can pull that off

Naw, it is a carburated small block, all I have to do is run a small vac line off the intake from the manifold and into the cab, then just drop the end over into a quart of oil and instant smoke screen

yeah, but that would be bad for the spark plugs, at the VERY least. maybe a REALLY small vac line.

Naw I know this works because I have done it before. You can feed a small block Dodge sand and it will keep going

not so much square, IIRC, but rectangular, yes. friction fit with a rubber shim, again IIRC. it has been awhile.

i'd love a wooden shift knob. the only problem would be the boot. i suppose the existing boot could be modified to fit under the knob....

Easy, Trim the boot below the knob. Turn it inside out and zip tie around rod, push the retaining ring back into its place, and you will have a bit of exposed rod, boot will look turned in, and you will be good to go...

I think D and I would both be interested.... I've got a spare shift lever around if you want me to mail one out for testing...
