I'm sure they are!

Noah930 09-09-2012 08:39 PM

I hope the frauleins are ready for you. :)

Porsche-poor 09-09-2012 08:42 PM

Either way go have fun!

Noah930 09-09-2012 08:44 PM

Gotta do some electrical work on one of the motorbikes. I think the voltage regulator on the 888 is on the fritz. Gotta splice in a new one along with some stouter wiring. And replace a tach cable. What a PITA to get all the bodywork off to access some of this stuff.

slodave 09-09-2012 08:58 PM

I'd offer to give you a hand, but...

Looks like between the free hotel wifi and the SIM card waiting for me, this should allow me to keep FB and PP updated. :D

Porsche-poor 09-09-2012 09:00 PM

Keep us up to date.

Noah930 09-09-2012 09:15 PM

And no, we don't need you to obtain model/photo release signatures from the frauleins. Or heck, maybe you could work that into the schtick.

Be safe on the Nurburgring. Jealous.

I hope things work out for the 'ring. I goofed my planning on that one. Now just to have some good luck with the weather on Saturday.

Unlike Grivas, I've not been playing the Sega to learn the track. In fact, I barely know what it looks like. :D I plan on the 4 lap ticket, I doubt i'll be breaking any track records. :D My cousin is a bit overweight, plus the luggage for the two of us and me in that little Z4. I'll be happy to just get on the track.

I'm waiting on parts. Or a part. That tach cable isn't in stock at either dealer here in LA. Nor in the warehouse in Italy. There's a dealership in Miami that supposedly had 5 in stock, but when I called them the guy couldn't find any. He referred me to another shop in Tallahassee that supposedly has 2. (And there's one other in Ocala that has 1.) I'm waiting on a package from that dealer in Tallahassee.

slodave 09-09-2012 09:24 PM

If you have got it done by the time I get back, I'll lend a hand. I have to tackle my 911 issue as well and replace those gas lines near the tank.

You tube it. Watch 'em on the plane ride over. Print out a track map. You'll at least have an idea of which way the track goes by the time you get there. Get stuck in an extended layover and you might have it memorized by the time you reach Germany. BTW, Noah's soccer team this year is nicknamed Germany.

You would have enjoyed (don't know if that's the term) the flight I had to ORD. It was uneventful until the landing. It's often bumpy dropping through cloud cover, right? Particularly if there are thunderstorms. So as we descended through the cloud layer over Chicago it was bumpy. OK, no big deal. But it was also equally bumpy all the way down. Maybe even worse. I could see the rain out the window. As we approached the runway I could see the pilot crabbing, and then heading straight, and then crabbing again. Wingtips were rolling back and forth. I was reminded of one of those videos of F-14s landing on a carrier deck in inclement weather. And we were still bopping up and down by what felt like a good 10-15 feet at any second.

But we got lower and lower. We passed over the runway and the pilot even flared the plane about 10-15 feet off the ground...and then throttled back up.

We very slowly climbed back into the clouds (almost like the plane was struggling?) before the pilot announced we were heading to Indianapolis. ORD was now closed and the weather would be there for about half an hour at the least. 60 mph winds, big time windshear, etc. We didn't have enough fuel to circle for that long, so we were off to Indy to fuel up and return. And when we got to Indy, we sat on the tarmac for about 30 minutes waiting for them to open up a gate for us, because apparently American only has 2 gates there and they were both occupied by planes parked for the night (well find the freakin' keys, then!).

We got into ORD 3 hours late. And when I got to curbside at 2:30 in the freakin' morning, there was a line of about 40 people....for 3 cabs.

Watching anything on the plane may be a problem. My laptop battery died years ago. I don't think there are any plugs in my section. I should check seatguru... I did save the latest update to Angry Birds for the flight. :D

slodave 09-09-2012 09:37 PM

Hmm. I may have access to a plug on the flight from DC to Frankfurt. Not sure which 777 I am on.

Morning Y'all

RKDinOKC 09-10-2012 12:36 AM

So, I don't like Wal-mart, and avoid shopping there. My brother tells me he has a friend that is a produce buyer for a grocery store. He says his friend explains there are different quality and freshness levels of produce store can get AND that Wal-mart stocks the lowest quality available. This is one of the reasons I don't like shopping there, I do not want to promote low quality for low price products. My Brother claims he agrees but keeps going to Walmart to buy my groceries! And despite my continued complains and requests otherwise keeps buying the cheap asp cardboard tasting carp brands of stuff.

And stop turning off my lights!!!!

Isn't keeping doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome the very definition of crazy.

Rick V 09-10-2012 12:38 AM

I think it is insanity

slodave 09-10-2012 12:38 AM

It's ludicrous I tell ya!

RKDinOKC 09-10-2012 12:39 AM

What the heck did I do to deserve this torture?!?

slodave 09-10-2012 12:39 AM

You stepped on a rusty nail?
