me too, I have a friend in Oz that I bought Pusha off, he has a 930 and also a beautiful fully restored Karman Ghia, it was sitting in my Mech shop for about 10 years while he worked on it in bit and pieces over that time, always wanted to buy it, but he wouldn't sell. now it is completed and Pusha is in its place lol

I would love a Karman Ghia. My dad had one of those too. A dark blue one. He sold it when I was in Junior high. Got the Porsche. How I wish he kept it. Maybe my mom would have let me have that one. :/

I hope I'm not prying too much, tweeze, but why is your mom unwilling to let you have the Porsche? It would be a great family project for you and your boys to work on over the coming years. It will help them appreciate cars, too, because they know how much work goes into fixing/maintaining them. Quite a few kids take it all for granted and drive crazy or otherwise abuse the cars they're "given." My 2 pesos.

Tomorrow afternoon we go pick up the new doggies.

The female is 2.5 years old and the male is 10 weeks old today. This has been the longest time my wife has ever gone with no dog in the house.

I need to put the fire on, its raining and windy and this house apparently has draughts in the wind, I'm cold. Of course I could always go down to the gym and do a workout and warm up, but I just had a coffee and so I shall just put the fire on!!

Azzy the salt is bad for the environment. The last powers to be in Seattle tried to go eco friendly with some new fancy de-icer. It worked really well, NOT. So the eco friendly liberals voted their own mayor out of office cause they couldn't drive to Starbucks....

I am really leaning towards getting another dog, I love the chocolate (liver) labs you guys have over here, we don't see too many of them in Oz, I had one years ago, and after several litters never managed to have another chocolate from her or any of her progeny. Back in the day, it was a very rare colour, but I see it all the time now, although it is a slightly different colour these days. Wendy, my lab was a more dark irish setter brown, than chocolate, and so it was more aligned with the Labrador Standard which calls the colour Liver, not chocolate in Oz..

You aren't prying. :) I have no idea. She just tells me she is going to fix it. Which is humorous because she is a seamstress and would not have enough money to restore that car. And she is close to retiring. I have several theories why she doesn't. 1) She got it in the divorce so it is some kind of trophy against my father because he loved that car. Did I tell you my father cheated on my mother and got married to his mistress? 2) She keeps telling me that she will leave it to me in her will but not to tell my sisters. My two younger sisters have expressed interest in the car as well but I think they have the same stupid ideas in their head as my mother. That it is worth a lot of money. Yeah, sure, after you pour half your life earnings into it... Especially considering the shape it is in. I think my mom doesn't want my sisters to feel like I am being favored. Mind you, my other two sisters never have expressed any interest in cars and one has filed for bankruptcy and the other has considered it. It's frustrating. My mom is one of those types of people though, if you push her too far, she won't blink twice to hold a grudge. Don't want to make my Mommy mad in other words. :)

Sounds like a tough situation to overcome. My advice is slow and stealthy (but not disrespectful). Look for small tasks to do for the car. Things you could get your sons to help with. Then, when visiting your mom, maybe the boys suggest "fixing" something on grandma's car. ;) Maybe at first it's only cleaning something, but a little work here, a little work there, but always with the boys, and who knows how things might turn out. :)

Oh, and my thoughts exactly. I wanted the boys to have something to tinker on. I could tell then stories of when I used to take drives with my Dad's. Up to Sedona. To get donuts on Sunday mornings. Begging him to drive me to school in it. When I told my dad that I think it made him smile too. To think his grandsons would hear those stories too. All of my other sisters have boys and girls. I am the only one with all boys. And again, I am the only one out of all my sisters who has never had financial issues and has a good job to make enough income to take care of that car. Again, who knows. I have presented all my arguments. I don't know what else to do other than stealing the car.

That's my strategy so far. :)

But without a lot of careful and skillful work it becomes compost.
