the one thing that I really hate about the Dentist, other than going to the Dentist, so i suppose the only Other Thing I hate about going to the Dentist, is the bloody bill!!!

All that FUN and you have to pay for it as well. Tried convincing the sons to become dentists or orthodontists, and they wouldn't be in it.

How else am I suppose to make sure that they can afford to keep me in my old age!!!!

Well that's why we have three Porsches, so at least we will end up with one of them, only two kids as well!

Who knows what we'll have in the 10 years before the 1st one drives :) we are car people, we are always getting something .

I have a regular dental checkup next week. I used to hate going to the dentist. Usually felt the dentist was tearing my mouth apart to make it open enough for his ham-fists to fit in there. Gawd awful stuff! A few years ago I found a petite, Vietnamese, female dentist. Slender hands. Now I feel pretty comfortable when I'm getting my teeth checked out. Even her dental tech is petite with slender hands. I wish I could take them along with me when I eventually retire to SoCal.

I need to go get a cleaning.... Luckily my dentist is cool guy and tries to not torture you... We usually talk planes or Porsches when I'm there... He works 3.5 days a week and plays the rest... Looks like a good life to me

I am off to the dentist in just a few minutes. I have been going to the same guy since he opened. He had only been open a few weeks back in 1978. He has the same posters on the wall and the very same decor.

He is an instructor at the dental school on Tuesdays so no appointments for Tuesday.

Yup, the buggers charge like wounded bulls.

We've only got two dental surgeries here. You normally have to wait weeks to get to see someone. I got lucky (if you can call it that), there was a cancellation today. I suppose I haven't done too badly, it's only my fourth visit to a dentist since leaving the airforce.

I've been wanting to get these teeth fixed for a few years and on my last visit a couple of years ago, the surgery I normally go to pretty much said they couldn't do it. I decided to try the other place today and the bloke there said no problemo, and got to work on it there and then.

This week I wasn't at the dentist, but monday morning I had my 6 month follow-up CT scan after being declared in remission. Everything looks great and instead of doing another in 3 months, they pushed it to 6. Excited to be living life.

GH85Carrera 04-18-2013 08:04 AM

Hey mine is the routine stuff. I go every 6 months for the oil filter and lube job routine maintenance. Preventative maintenance is better than overhauls.

azzarule 04-18-2013 08:04 AM

Andy, it must be so nerve wracking each time you are scheduled to have the scan.

Alll clear, excellent news.

Andy911sc 04-18-2013 08:09 AM

It can be. This last one I was was really doing a lot before hand and where the cancer was and they cut me open for a biopsy, I was feeling some pain (I call them ghost pains with the scar tissue). That really gets me going and stressed. My cancer literally popped up over night. Novermber 8th, 2011 I was helping dad in the shop and when I went to bed that night, I felt a lot of pain under my left arm. I thought I might have pulled something. The next morning I woke up to a softball sized lymph node under my arm. I knew something wasn't right.

Porsche-poor 04-18-2013 08:33 AM

Yikes! Glad to hear all is well then.

Jferr006 04-18-2013 08:34 AM

Yes, glad to hear you are in the clear, Andy!

Andy911sc 04-18-2013 09:35 AM

Thanks everyone. It's a big eye opener when you are 26, in good health and cancer pops it's head. Very life changing experience.

Porsche-poor 04-18-2013 09:36 AM

Yes, indeed! Poor Andy! LOL! :D

Andy911sc 04-18-2013 09:59 AM

Yes I do, especially when a $50 fix turns into a few hundred pretty quickly. You have to hit the while you are in there stuff. Elicia always gives me a hard time about it. I just nudge her and say, "you know you love me though"
