Azzy, I've had to go Zen more times than I can count these days. Maybe this working from home thing for the past couple years has de-tuned me from dealing with the day to day commute.

End of the day, she got what was coming to her and then some. I'm supposed to check with the traffic unit investigator on Monday, said he'll get insurance info from her. Assuming she has any.

Just got power back...been out since 7PM last night. Trees down on the street. What a pain. Looks like the food in the fridge is ok though.

Send me back out west where they buy power lines.

Hubs and I worked together... :) that is the whole reason we have that thing ;) bonding. Tomorrow he's teaching me how to rebuild an engine.

You can get that vinyl on eBay or amazon in small pieces. I ordered 3 yds of the CF for several of my projects... I had to buy it 60" by 3yds, at almost $50/yd...

I wouldn't attempt to wrap a helmet. This stuff will shrink with heat and conform, but you will still get wrinkles. The curves of a helmet are just too much. Even apply small decals to a helmet is tough....

Wanting to make my motorcycle helmet a little more visible at night, I picked up a roll of the 3M Solas reflective tape (like the kind they make the letters out of on STOP signs) and did a flame motif. You're right in that the curves of the helmet making things difficult, but there was a little bit of stretch to the 3M tape that helped. I kept it to a thin line of flames around the base of the helmet, so there wasn't much wrinkling. But yeah, a full helmet wrap would be very tedious. Plus a little obnoxious to have the whole freakin' head reflective at night.

Congrats, but before you claim victory, you need to post a pic of your empty engine bay, Janet. :D

No, no. You need to be standing inside the empty engine bay. Between the frame rails.

Full day. Ran the Pat Tillman Run. 4.2 miles. Actually survived despite not running much since Ragnar in February and the half marathon in January.

Then golf with my boys.

Then a 7 year old's birthday party. Exhausted.

Good job, Janet.

You should have said you wanted some reflective! We've got miles of the crap from our highway sign days... There are many grades of reflective, and that solas isn't as pliable as some of the stuff we've got. The black vinyl I used will wrap nicely, but still not enough to do a helmet. The reflective isn't as pliable, but would still be better than what you used, albeit slightly less reflective.

This doesn't have that honeycomb pattern.... More bendy. ;)

I'm watching UFC and having a (few) drink... Ill stand in it tomorrow. Pics to come.

HHI944 04-20-2013 07:01 PM

Don't need reflective, my helmet has red LEDs in the rear.......there are quite a few writeups out there on wrapping a helmet......it appears possible, just not an easy or quick job

GH85Carrera 04-20-2013 07:06 PM

Good night folks.

Next time maybe I'll try the reflective stuff you've got on hand. This is a previous helmet I did.

Yup the stuff we've got is a lot more workable... Let me know if you wanna try another ever... We've got white, red, orange, blue, and occasionally green and black(reflects white).

Morning, happy birthday, Sid.

Seriously, Jeff, come be my live-in personal chef. It pays horribly.

Jferr006 04-21-2013 03:55 AM

Another day of hard labor. Have to clean up the extraction this morning, the guys are toying with the boats during the day while I mow the jungle and power wash the deck. For dessert, we take apart engines.

Jim Richards 04-21-2013 04:19 AM

Happy B-day, Sid! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...verjaardag.gif

It sounds like a fun day, Janet. Or should I have typed that in green? :D
