Neither one for me. :(

I got the yard mowed. I also spent several hours cleaning the intake manifold and part of the engine bay.

The good news is the whine in the transmission in NOT the ring and pinion. It is just the bearings that support it. They are expensive bearings but way cheaper than a ring and pinion.

Rick V 05-05-2013 02:21 PM

New bearings in the trans mean you need to rebuild the shift coupler. :)
All jokes aside I have bronze bushings in mine and love them.

Porsche-poor 05-05-2013 02:22 PM

More while your I there......

Jferr006 05-05-2013 02:23 PM

Got the block cleaned/ cylinders deglazed. As soon as I get my crankshaft back next week we can start putting it back together.

Going back to my neighbors tonight to look at that 944 again.

I replaced the shift coupler with a WEVO unit a couple of years ago. It made a big difference.

All pretty and clean, didn't get judged though, they stopped judging at number 96 and we were Number 98. Sigh all of that cleaning for nothing, but Marilyn did look nice after all the cleaning , so maybe should take her out like that every 6 months so she gets really really well loved and cleaned. Not that she isn't washed and polished anyway, but she got extra on Saturday.

for those who like tractors, beautifully restored.

Our favourite older car, a '72, there was mid 50s a speedster there, but it was just getting too much attention, so we voted for this instead, beautifully presented.

Sadly I must say that we really didn't take that many photos, just too busy looking I suppose, Jim might have taken more, certainly Lu was busy with the camera.

Jim Richards 05-05-2013 04:07 PM

Nice seeing you, Steve, and your son today. I can't believe they didn't judge Marilyn after all your effort to make her sparkle. :(

Lu took a ton of pictures, so I'm going to be busy going through them. I'll try to post some tomorrow.

after the car show, I had to go pick up the new work car, from a place not far from the car show, Renton, very nice area, the guy I had to collect the car from )the leasing agent) his house was on the water in the lakes area, was huge, had a Mazerati Bora 4.0L in the garage, and a huge indoor pool. Sigh, must be money to be made in leasing corporate cars!

took a photo of Marilyn next to me on the motorway, "what's that officer, me using a camera while driving, noooooooo, you must be mistaken!" only joking ;)

Looks like it was a great day for the show. I would have loved to have gone.

azzarule 05-05-2013 04:17 PM

Yes I was really disappointed, I know there were a lot of lovely cars there, but we had spent quite a few hours yesterday on her, and it would have been nice for her to get looked at. None of the cars around us had been judged either, the guys next to us went down to complain, and we had already packed up and were heading out, and the judging guys were saying that they thought they had done all of the cars, but would come back down and do the one next to us, but we couldn't be bothered staying any longer, as we had to collect the other car.

Don't know how they can say they thought they had finished when we had registered and paid $30, to "park" in there, and had a number, expensive parking eh! But the funds go to the club, so all good.

Some lovely cars in there though, interestingly there were only two 914's, they said that was a one hundred percent increase from last year, lol.

No 356's in Miss Daisy's year and configuration, the two 61s there were both notchbacks which was interesting, don't see them often in Oz, and there were quite a few there today.

Rick you should have come up, some of the Benzs were beautiful as well

Rick V 05-05-2013 04:19 PM

I was on baby sitting duty with Beth. We did get a lot of yard destruction done.

azzarule 05-05-2013 04:19 PM

Next year I am parking in the shade and taking a chair!

The Benz people with the extra boot space, had picnic baskets, chairs, tables, the whole shebang!

Chainsaw and tractor. I found if I kept the beer flowing they would keep working.

azzarule 05-05-2013 04:22 PM

on the way back, Steve and David were in marilyn, as I had to drive the other car, insurance stuff taken into account, as its a work car, anyway, when we got home the other two bleated that they were cold and they should have put the top up, I said "heater" and they said "we had it on"

I went to look at the setting for the heater controls, and they had been sending the heat to the windscreen, lol, there little legs were cold. Between the two of them you would think they could read.

well even I would keep going with a tractor!

Some serious gardening tools there!

GH85Carrera 05-05-2013 04:31 PM

It looks like a nice car show Azzy. It is a shame your car did not get judged.

azzarule 05-05-2013 04:38 PM

Evening Glen,
some lovely cars there, it was a combined, German Marque show, BMW, Mercs, Porsche, but a bit disappointed that there were no old VWs, apparently a German car show, but only expensive German cars!
