Dunno, but is sucks hard, and it keeps on sucking... (don't have one myself, I think, I'll ask the cleaning lady...)

Good morning.

I feel like I have been cheating on you guys. I spent several hours on the Ubuntu forum last night. I am trying to figure out how to make a clone of my current setup on my netbook. I want a recovery DVD that can get my system back to where it is now if I screw it up again. Even better would be a network recovery. I may buy another flash drive today to try that route. Lots to read and learn.

@#@@$# B@stard landlord of my sister...

was just looking at this years rental price index... since there's deflation i figured i'de check if i could save her a few bucks a month...

turns out the landlord got the index price for 2009 wrong.. she pays 369 a month now..
it should have been 357.6 a month.. 11.4 euro a month she payed to much... or about 139 euro over the year...

not much money for most of us... but that's a big sum of money for somebody in a sheltered workplace, making minimum wage..

Now looking into the legal aspects, if i can get the landlord to refund her the money she overpayed... it's one way i can add some money to her savings account, she rarely manages to come up with something after she had to shoe string her budget just to get by...

svandamme 03-03-2010 02:47 AM

double glazing is in... looks nice from the outside, to bad about the old white door, but that one was already double glazed, and i need to set my priorities.

still need to do up the inside, some plaster board and it'll be good to go.
at least i'll be insulated in the back of the house

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267613242.jpg
Big change on the inside, those aluminium frames leave more glass then the old, wooden frames they replace... more light...
next on the list is that last roof window on the left.. had packed it up with rockwoool for the winter, i'll put in another velux in june...

Geronimo '74 03-03-2010 02:54 AM

you can always paint the door, so it won't stick out as much.
You didn't do the front of the house??

svandamme 03-03-2010 02:56 AM

it's PVC, not sure how well paint will stick to it...
at least it's a clean door now , if it get's dirty, i put the hose on it... not so if i paint it..

front of the house will be a job for later, as i will be putting the door where there's a window now, on the left.
will require some brick work as well as bigger budget.

just did the back windows now, for a quick tax rebate when i file my 2009 taxes

the refund in 2010, will pay for my central heater

the refund i get from the central heater in 2011, will pay for my front remodeling

i recycle my refunds for optimal cashflow :D

D

There is a paint for every type of surface, but it will need proper prep work.
Your heating bill will go down, too bad you couldn't do this 4 or 5 months ago, you could have profited an extra winter.

svandamme 03-03-2010 04:34 AM

might give it a try, but first i'll be plastering up the inside of my new double glazed windows :D

GH85Carrera 03-03-2010 05:28 AM

Good morning.

Stijn I see you have a "solar powered clothes dryer" in your back yard. :)

svandamme 03-03-2010 05:33 AM

yeah, it's the latest eco model, doesn't use any electricity, and damn , so quiet !! amazing
it don't work to well in the winter though... but that's a small price to pay to keep Mother Nature happy!

svandamme 03-03-2010 05:36 AM

come think of it... i've been here almost for a full year now..
1 year down on the mortage, 29 more to go!
