If they expect nothin then they can't get disappointed :)

We almost always eat out somewhere nice on Friday night. We went out last night and will stay home tonight. We are thinking all the VD day dates and regular Friday night rush will make for a busy night at all the nice places. We will have our VD date night meal out tomorrow. It is advantageous to have been married for a while. We don't HAVE to go out on VD day.

We will party like crazy tonight. Laundry and leftovers.

We had our first date ever at a local place and we will likely hit that tomorrow night.

She did send me an email list of honey doos for the weekend. It is supposed to be mid 60s and nice weather.

Same here. Plus, it's always hard to do stuff on a weekday evening.

How could he say no to that? But he didn't want to make his regular customers unhappy. So he delivered out all the Valentine's roses a week early. That way, he could satisfy his regulars awhile also allowing himself enough time for the $$$$ wedding. Plus the flowers are often cheaper (for him) the week before.

His customers **loved** it. The women loved getting the roses earlier than anyone else. The husbands/boyfriends (and sometimes one in the same ;)) loved that they looked even more thoughtful than usual. Now Sam delivers all his Valentine's arrangements a week before.

Love. More thoughtful. That's the important part here. Thoughtful. If it takes some effort to think about and carry through, regardless of monetary value, it is an awesome gift.

I like my plan better, it takes no thought at all. ;)

It's 90*. I'm going to throw the bike on the back of the car and head for the mountains for a ride.

That is all.

Wow that was fun. Just got to watch Connor and the band play I Saw Here Standing There for a school assembly. As for VD well I'll be in a bar/ pub with the band. The wife will be at home.

The life of a roadie.

Porsche-poor 02-14-2014 03:00 PM

Yep. School was a tuff one. Load in one song load out.

Wonderful half day at work, no one bothered to come in so we were very bored. I got a new phone before work so I had something to do.
My son gave his girl a ring today, what a fool to pick today for that but he said his memory is bad for dates and this way he won't forget an anniversary.
My daughter is flying back tomorrow night and we get to drive to Regan Airport in DC. I can not wait till I sell this house so I can say "sorry I don't have room".

GH85Carrera 02-14-2014 03:09 PM

So do you go to the gym and haul stuff around for exercise and fun when the are not performing?

GH85Carrera 02-14-2014 03:11 PM

Rick, that is smart actually. He only has to get one present or card for his anniversary and VD present combined.

Outback Porsche 02-14-2014 03:21 PM

Wow! You poor bastards! I'm amazed you're expected to remember the ring date as an anniversary. Your wimenz put far to much pressure on you blokes. Any wonder marriage these days looks destined to fail. They set you up for it.

beatings are fun.... just saying.

Outback Porsche 02-14-2014 04:13 PM

On our first anniversary, Sharyn tells me about this bogus scheme called an 'eternity ring', and I'm supposed to give her said ring on this anniversary. What BS is this I said? What was that gold thing I gave you when we said the 'I do's'? That wasn't for eternity?

She and her mates carried on about it for a while, but no additional 'eternity ring' was forthcoming.

Well she did get another ring eventually, but I insisted it get called a maternity ring. ;)
