It was 78 today and supposed to be warm tomorrow as well. Just a tad breezy.

Well that was interesting....we were camping in the southern state forest, off a logging track. This morning when i was doing my pre-flight checks, before we were to continue deeper into the forests, I discovered the new CV boot had departed from the hub. Grease everywhere.

Rang the workshop in Hobart and said we'll be there in about two hours. Uneventful drive back, until the first traffic light.

Big lock up from new CV side. Limped it very slowly to the workshop working both brake pedal and hand brake so we wouldn't slide at each intersection.

Currently sitting in a nearby pub, having lunch and a calming ale. Nerves have finally settled.

Too bloody right, and make it a little more entertaining, imagine the streets of SF but ten fold, and it was raining.

10 fold? Ten time the hight of the hills or 10 times the traffic?

I can't imagine that in any place in Oz. we need pictures!

10 times as many. The whole city is built on the side of a mountain.

Back at the shop now waiting for the repair. They damaged the boot when fitting the clamp at the hub. They are currently fitting a new boot, then we should be on our way.

Decided not to double back to where we were headed in the forest. We're changing direction and heading east from here.

1 week and 1 day left before we. Depart for the big island.

Have to wait till we have power for the laptop for some pics. Have put a few on FB (but not many).

Any of y'all use chemical guys wax and whatnot?
I've heard good things about their stuff and needed some fresh product and some compound to get rid of a few swirls for the Lotus so I ordered thishttp://www.chemicalguys.com/Chemical_Guys_HOL_788_All_in_One_Lab_Kit_p/hol_788.htm

RKDinOKC 03-10-2014 08:45 PM

Red oxidizes almost as fast as black gets dirty.

When I got fed up with swirls took it to local body shop I like and they buffed it out for $80, go rid of them all. Looks like new paint

GH85Carrera 03-11-2014 05:24 AM
