It was likely all those watches you got for $7 that put them under.

Condolences Glen.
Coworker friend died a few years back, it was both the saddest funeral I've ever been to and the happiest wake. They did that thing with the lone bagpipe player that started greensleeves at the casket and walked off into the distance until you couldn't hear it anymore, not a dry eye in the place. Then at the wake they had blown up pictures of him being silly, did an open bar, and had people go up and tell fun memories of the jokes and pranks he pulled. |
I blame the Walmart that went in down the street. Kinda like Walmart and the grocery stores around here.

I don't understand how bagpipe screeching at funerals has become so popular. It sure ain't music. What next a guy with a Tuba playing? I have never liked the bagpipe and I guess I am alone in that. I even have some Scottish ancestors. I just don't care for that racket.

That is WAY better than screeching from a noise maker.
I understand some people actually like bagpipes. There are a lot of crazy wrong headed people in this world. Some people like (C)rap music and actually pay money to listen to it. Evidently all of them are deaf because I hear them blasting thump thump as they drive down the road. |
Yeah! Get off my lawn!!!

My coworker friend was a red headed step child of the Irish his last name was Ryan. I'm sure they had the whole bagpipe thing just BECAUSE it is SO annoying. It's not like he had a family crest or clan plaid or anything like that. Don't know if everyone was crying because the lone bagpiper walking off into the sunset was moving, or just because they were so happy the annoying noise stopped.
I would like to have the 1812 overture play and at the big ending have me and my casket blow up real good and maybe some of the flower pots around the room. And everyone yell 'There he goes, God love him." |
My niece and her husband owned and ran a funeral home for years. The funeral home was a small town one and had huge living quarters attached. The king of a gypsy group passed and they hosted the proceedings. The gypsies stayed at the funeral home for a week and partied with 24hour music and dancing, at the end of the week they elected a new king and left.

The funeral was typical and normal, no bagpipes. :)
The cool part is he was a long time member of the Corvette club. The club members were there in force. They all had a orange Polo shirt wit the club logo on it. There was likely 35 couples there. The owner of the funeral home is also a member of the club and the funeral home owns a nice community club place next door to the funeral home. The Corvette club hold their meetings there. The club provided food and deserts all home made and good food. Anyway they set everything up, served the food and cleaned up the place. My cousin was a long time treasurer for their club and did many jobs for the club. The sounds familiar for some reason. |
My condolences Glen :(
