There will be tons published about it. I bet there is a lot of pics on the website already. I will shoot some of out drives in the next few days. Something I will look at and show to folks. |
Oklahoma City area had three earthquakes today. The "big" one was a 4.1 or so.
It looks like I came out to California to escape the earthquakes. ;) |
Way to go Glen

It takes great skill and talent to avoid them things.

This is when you go back home is Ca gonna drop off the continent?

It rattled the dishes and pictures on the walls, lasted about 10 seconds.
Mom has ceramic Rooster and Hen figurines perched on the plate rack above the kitchen cabinets. Even though they are known to be suicidal and leap from the rack into pieces on the floor. we had no jumpers. |
I had my camera in my laptop backpack which rode shotgun in the 911 (only other thing I had was a jacket (not needed) and water bottle and the car cover in the trunk). I pulled up to my hotel and when taking the backpack out to get my dad in the car (he drove his Honda Civic which has luxuries like side windows) I somehow managed to forget that the camera would be needed for the concours. Originally I was just thinking about meeting the check-in deadline but then I kept seeing old friends and cool cars and realized I didn't have a camera with me.
Oh well. I will see the best cars from the show again at Canepa's on Saturday. My dad made me put the windscreen wipers on yesterday so of course today I never ran into one drop of mist, let alone rain that the Rain-X wouldn't have handled. Grr. Highway 1 from Morro Bay to Monterey was about perfect. Clear blue skies. Awesome scenery. Irritatingly slow drivers in the best parts though. I was wishing I had a 914 so I could take the top off and see more of the mountains. I couldn't see much above the windscreen sunshade banner and there's no sunroof in my coupe. |

Is that the Chart House?

What kind of fuel consumption did you see when using California 91 octane E10?
I think I used about 20 gallons today to go a little over 300 miles of smiles, hills and gratiuitous downshifts and runs to redline. |
The only tank of gas I have checked was the 100% gas from home. 26 MPG on that one. I am sure it has dropped with the booze in the gas.

Looks beautiful, Glen. Wish I was there.
The moment any of you hear about the dates for Rennsport Reunion 5 for next year, let me know so I can book a room. |

You going there again? Taking the family this time right? I'm thinking we'll go and bring the boys. Not sure if we'll drive or fly though.

Yes, I believe that's the one.
It was a pretty location. Easy parking. I had a beachfront room (2nd floor). There's a nice lobby with panoramic windows onto the ocean, so you can enjoy a glass of wine. It's on the sand (stuff in Cannery Row often is not). There's a pool and fitness room. I think the kids would have loved it. Unfortunately I went alone (was going to go with my son, but he bailed at the last moment), but I want to take the family next summer. The only downside to that hotel is that there isn't Cannery Row stuff to do immediately outside the hotel's front door. |
Big woop. If it's a good rate, I can drive to attractions. ;) beach is near by, that's good enough.
Now I'm just hoping RR V happens in 2015, not 2014. I don't think Thuy has enough vacation time to join me this year. |
