Bummer that would have been my guess.

Back then motorcycles still had that Hell's Angels, rebel without a cause stigma. I wanted an Enduro so I could ride it on the dirt trails and later on the street.

Had the bike all picked out and everything...

Our next door neighbor had a Harley Sportster.

Now all the dentists and lawyers dress up like Hells Angles and drive to the bar on 30K bikes all geared up to pretend they are bikers.

Porsche-poor 07-11-2014 09:03 AM

don't know any lawyer bikers. my lawyer rides shotgun in the 911.

RKDinOKC 07-11-2014 09:16 AM

My nephew did that. A couple of months after he got his fancy stitched up leather jacket a couple of real local biker gang dudes ran him off the road. He wasn't hurt, but he did stop riding.

Kinda funny cause when he showed me his jacket I told him he should be careful because there still is such a thing as biker gangs and they don't take kindly to posers. He laughed at me and said he would just out-run them. Evidently not.

I know some guys that are in sport bike clubs. They are very careful. They ride crotch rockets in big groups and not harley style bikes, and their leathers are racer style not jeans and leather jackets. Says at multi-club meetings the gang sends representatives to tell them what NOT to do, and trying to look like a hell's angel is a big no no. Say it's too much trouble to try to tell if it is a poser or rival.

I had one of these years ago.

Then one of these.

Took my motorcycle road test on one of these. Been hankering to buy it. Dad bought it from the original owner and can't ride it now. It is too tall for his 5'7" 72 year old body.

Glen has a lift for that, no jack required.

I started on a Honda Z-50 at 5 then moved to a Kawasaki 90cc bike when I turned 9. Then the Yamaha Enduro 175 then the 360 and on up.

Actually the 175 was my brother in law's bike but we traded for a bit. The 360 was too heavy for me at the time. Blew up the 175 but he blew up the 360. Rebuilt them with better jugs/pistons. Fun times. Or daughter has a Suzuki on loan from my sister from when her kids were smaller.

Joe, some days you read as a walking pharmaceutical ad.

Porsche-poor 07-11-2014 10:00 AM

My father had an 1100 midnight special I rode it once it was to heavy and to much of a cruiser. I liked my Seca 750 better.

I feel like a walking pharmacy today. ...this sucks...
I don't understand how old people do it....I've only got 4 meds to keep track of and I can't remember which to take when...

With that list of meds I am surprised you know how to type. :D

A friend had a Kawie H2C 750. He didn't like it much either. The power delivery was abrupt when you hit the power band and the handling was as if the frame was made of a light spring steel and it moved more than the suspension some times.

Porsche-poor 07-11-2014 10:30 AM

yikes that would not be a fun bike to ride.

Hydrocodone doesn't affect me much unless I take stupid doses... I'm not supposed to take the Zanaflex until I'm going to bed...that just leaves a corticosteroid and a muscle relaxer....I love flexeril though, it works beautifully on me!

I'm laying on the couch watching some stupid documentary on netflix. I wish I was at the gym, I've got a lot of things to work on before my next trip to Academi.

Bought a chest rig as well. I used a standard issue molle vest at the last course and while there decided it was time to up my game to a chest rig, but I didn't want to spend crazy money (they can run $400+)
Ended up getting an SKD PIG chest rig. I like it a lot, hangs comfortably and has a good amount of storage while staying simple
