Don't know yet. They are supposed to send me the paperwork, then I send it back, then they can schedule the transport. It's in Chicago. That's why I thought everyone might enjoy doing a pool for it. Betting the part for the Rover gets here and is fixed before the pig arrives. Just because. Noticed their web site now lists "Pending" for the price. |

Been checking and Techart makes a module for the suspension that automatically lowers it an inch lower than stock loading height when it's put in park. Will have to see how Mom's egress goes to see if I need it. Understand their module also makes the ride better at the lowest driving height. |

AHH toys! Have fun with the new ride. |

So ya gonna do a radio swap? The Rover has a radio worth more than the Rover. Can it go into the pepper wagon? |

Pig has the Bosé with Nav and gosh...14 speakers, so nope. The rover stereo was a complete system with custom install. They replaced all the speakers with driver and tweeters, added a 5th driver and tweeter in front center top of dash, a custom sub cabinet and 2 amps so it could do 5.1 surround. So I could say it is a 11 speaker system. The head is a JVC Chameleon which is touch screen, no knobs or buttons and supports all the iPhone stuff both wired and airplay. Even plays DVD videos on it. Supposed to also do a backup camera, but didn't think it was needed with all the windows in the rover. Half of the cost of the system was the 5 shallow drivers to fit the stock locations without cutting and hacking stuff or making custom mounts which adds as much as the cost of the shallower speakers. Think aftermarket speaker manufacturers do that on purpose. Went as cheap as I could to get 5.1 surround. The stock system on the rover was pretty good for it's time, just everything was dead from age. Hopefully whomever gets this rover will appreciate the sound system enough to consider the value it adds to it. |

I have had it with XFX. They have a lifetime warranty on their stuf, but I reported the fan on my video card stopped working on 6/24 and they asked if I wanted to ship the card to them to have it fixed or if I wanted to put the fan in myself. I said I could do the fan myself. I have been doing this stuff for over 20 years. On 7/3 it supposedly shipped. On 7/15 I notified them I did not receive it and they asked to verify the address so I did. On 7/21 they asked to verify the address and I did. On 7/25 they asked if I wanted and RMA for the card or ship the replacement fan for the one that went missing and I told then to ship the fan, again. I am ready to toss the card and buy one from MSI or any other real company. I wonder if the Shack has a fan that will fit. |

Now that the rant is over, white is faster because it reflects all colors creating a boundary layer effect on the airflow do to electromagnetic interaction with the air molecules. Red is faster because it is close to the IR specrum and heats the air close to it and everyone knows hot air is less dense reducing drag. |
Does the Shack have an accurate digital multi-meter, my current one is one of the bakelite Simpson analog needle dinosaurs. |
Red and white bumblebee stripes for a hotter electromagnetic boundary? Or is that why the Mary Kay cars are Pink? Maybe that's the real reason they did this color scheme... http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/med...cc/the-pig.jpg |

I always use the 9$ one from harbor freight. How accurate do you need? ;) |
I bought a Fluke multimeter 25 or so years ago. It has been used a lot since then. |
For most of what we do with meters I don't need dead on accurate. And our meters occasionally go sky diving, so the cheaper the better. ;) |
Accurate enough to check current draw on cars that are killing batteries after a week or so parked. Otherwise a test light for AC and a 11-15 volt DC to make sure alternator/regulator is working. About all I use em for. |
It really does not take much to kill a battery with a constant draw. |
On my other 928 the glove box latch got loose and left the little tiny light bulb on all the time. Took about 18 hours to kill the battery. Was very difficult to find as door closed enough to latch and not let light out, but not turn light off. |

Hey sid, I might be out in AZ for about a week at the end of august. How close to the border are y'all? |
Not close at all... Phoenix is a good 2.5 to 3 hours depending on where on the border |

Drop that armor in the ice chest. Actually it will probably be in the upper hundred teens is all. |
