But, but, with the paint protection you could pour lighter fluid on it and light it and the paint would be fine! Really! Worth 10 times what they are asking for. Go for it! :)

Our most recent worst nightmare shipping problem was with FedEx. We had a big job we had flown and the flight cost alone was as much as I paid for my 911. The place that process the film prints labels with the FedEx software so it makes a nice pretty label with all the bar codes and our address has not changed since the early 1980s.

Our address is 132 NE and FedEx delivered it to 132 NW same street. This was on Christmas Eve, eve. December 23rd. We were going to put the film on the scanner and let it run while we were off for Christmas. We had it shipped EARLY 8:00 AM first thing hurry hurry.

FedEx brings us the same size box from the same place all the time. The driver should know where to take it without even looking at the address.

At 9:00 AM I start calling the FedEX office. The weather is crappy, and everything is backed up. Their system shows it was delivered. They finally see that it was just left on the front porch of some house. We explained that we are not over there. With enough emphasis that we really need our package that is several hours overdue a supervisor jumped in her personal car and fetched the package and brought it to us. We finally got it on the scanner and we went home.

My current project may have me figuring out shipping of a 14' x 46' tub that weighs 50 tons. I don't think I'll call FedEx.

My wife is able to get up into our Cayenne without too much difficulty, but she puts a lot if her weight on the door (but it us only about 100lbs; she is just under 5' tall. We have a '94 4-Runner that is a bit higher. She has a bit more difficulty with that .

Every 3 years we send our mapping camera back to the service center back in NJ. The camera cost an eye watering amount that make new Porsche sound cheap. The lens and drive unit are just under 500 lbs and they don't like shocks.

FedEx quoted a price that was silly. Leica recommended a guy that specialized in that type of equipment. It still cost more than my 914 just to ship it but it made the round trips just fine.

You probably pack it like it was an egg with a really thin shell. This bad boy just had to stay as flat and straight as possible no warping.

The camera came with very nice custom Pelican cases. They even have shock sensors on them. We have to strap them down to a pallet.

It looks almost the same. Some lights blink and the roller ends rotate if you look close. The computer triggers it so it is not much to see. The shutter is a rotary shutter hidden inside the lens. The lens goes to the very bottom of the airplane and has a removable filter to protect it. just Google the Leica RC-30 and the specs will come up somewhere.
