Are ya gonna bite Rick? No wait that would be rabies.

slodave 10-11-2014 10:15 PM

I managed to trip the SawStop tonight. Not sure what happened, though no blood or missing digits.

New cartridge on the left. You can see how deformed the aluminum is on the right. Saw blade is most likely okay, but now has to go back to Forrest so they can true it up and resharpen it.

It'll cost about $200 to buy a backup cartridge and have the blade dealt with. A lot cheaper than the hospital costs involved when you chop of a finger. ;)

It amazes me the saw stop can react quick enough to keep from lopping off a digit.

slodave 10-11-2014 10:51 PM

I'm a believer. :)

Here is a high speed video of the guy that invented the saw stop actually sticking his own finger in a running saw blade.

Morning Y'all,
Cool idea that saw stop is

Jim Richards 10-12-2014 04:51 AM

I prefer to have ten digits.

GH85Carrera 10-12-2014 06:40 AM

Stijn!!

I prefer 20.
10 fingers, 10 toes.

Great invention that saw stop.

RKDinOKC 10-12-2014 06:56 AM

Oh man, thanks for the reminder. I only gots 8-1/2 toes. And the 1-1/2 they chopped off were my heel and toe toes.

Rick V 10-12-2014 12:38 PM

Chopped off or rotted off?

RKDinOKC 10-12-2014 02:13 PM

Chopped.

Rick V 10-12-2014 03:07 PM

Well chicks dig scars. :D

GH85Carrera 10-12-2014 04:12 PM

Not all scars!
I have a cool scar on my hip from the surgery. I pretty much have to moon anyone to show it. No one really wants to see it.

Now how do you know that chicks don't dig your scar until you show them, Glen? :D

slodave 10-12-2014 05:17 PM

Your mission Glen, is to walk down Main Street and ask random chicks if the dig scars as you simultaniously drop trow....

And try to stay out of jail?

porsche4life 10-12-2014 07:14 PM

Glen you should be getting some rain. We got lots of rain and lightning. Now we don't have power. Trying to get the gererator running now.

RKDinOKC 10-13-2014 12:09 AM

My nephews house has a generator that runs off propane that automatically kicks in when the power goes off. He also buried the big ugly propane tank and put in a service nozzle at his gate so the truck doesn't have to enter his property to fill the tank.

The only problem with his no expense spared house it that it was built with metal framing instead of wood. The wifi in and around the house sucks. Put in 4 routers and it still only gets good signal in the rooms that actually contain the routers.
