The news has pointed out a few gas stations with $1.99 per gallon in the metro area.
|
We finally broke $3.00 per gallon here.
|
Do dah...
Local Shell station is 2.59 for premium. I have a discount from the Homeland grocery store for 1.20 per gallon at the Shell station. The Cayenne holds 22 gallons so that would be $30.58 for a tank of gas. At 17 miles per gallon a tank of gas usually lasts me a month. |

You can get gas prices at gasbuddy.com
There is two stations at 1.99, and one at 1.98, all three are on the south side of OKC. Cheapest in Edmond area is 2.19. I use premium in my cars. Cheapest is 2.39 at the same south OKC stations and 2.59 locally, again .20 difference. It would take me 2 gallons to drive from the Edmond station to the Cheaper South side station and back. That would be a cost of 4.78. I would have to buy 24 gallons to break even. And that does not include the hour extra time to drive there and back. Was at the local gas station filling up and the lady next to me was filling her car. She commented that she was upset because the price of gas went up .10 a gallon just that morning and she had waited a day. Her fill up was 10 gallons of gas. I reached in my pocket, handed her a dollar and said, "Here, take this and it's just like it didn't happen." |

Done with my downstairs patching. The wall had two L shaped holes about 2"x2" from the bracket for the kiddie gate ripping out. The corner had just had all its finish knocked off over the years. I had to sculpt it out of mud and tape before I did the texture. Wish I'd gotten a before pic. The wall upstairs is ready for paint. Waiting for Thuy to get home so we can go get a few colors and use that area to test. Planning on repainting the whole house a nice neutral gray color soon. |

Here's what I've got so far in the bathroom. The shower had been leaking a bit(our house was caulked by a monkey) thus the blistered wall. Once I found the bit of mold under the flooring I cut a bigger hole in the wall to make sure I had gotten it all out. Also needed to get over to the next stud to fasten the rock. The trim will be replaced too. Slowly getting there! Still need to patch the home from my washer line mishap. But it's hidden from view so it's taking a backseat. |
Hmm. We had a plumbing issue a couple weeks ago. Plumber had to cut a hole in our bedroom wall to access the problem. He cleaned out a wad of gunk, but due to the heft of the estimate, Mrs. Noah didn't want to splurge for repiping the particular bathroom to avoid the same problem occurring again in the future, nor did she want to install any wall-mounted cleanout. I was lazy, so I didn't feel like learning drywalling. So instead, I spent $8 at HD to buy some MDF trim and hinge hardware, used some leftover MDF sheet and paint from the garage, and built a little access door to cover up the hole in the wall. Looks decent/unobtrusive, and if the plumbing backs up again in the future, it'll be a cinch to clean it out.

Ya coulda asked.... I could have taught you.

Heya guys, I'm still alive. We've been real busy with work and socialising. I've poked my head in a few times but decided to spare you all from drunk posting.
Today is my Friday, I'm visiting the dentist tomorrow morning, and they reckon I'll be there for about 4 hours, thus I'm chucking a sicky for the day. |
Spare us from drunk posting? You robbed us of your drunk posts!
And alarick, if you need to try drywall just ask and we can talk you through it. It's really not that hard. And you can sand out mistakes and then cover them with texture and paint! |
I'm working on it - gotta kill this tooth for the last time :(

Should be easy for a Aussie redneck....
My parents are incoming on Monday! Don't think Alice Springs is on the map, though. After Australia, Tasmania. |
Let me know if they do decide to pop in to the Alice. There's a queen bed in our spare room doin nothin at the moment. How long are they in Oz for?
|
Not sure. About three weeks+ total. Sydney, Adelaide... Then off to Taz... Back to SYD, home. Looks like the only stay-overs are in Katoomba and Sydney.
|
Cool, they should have plenty of fun. All places have differnt charm. Let them know though, they are welcome to stay anytime.
|
Ahem... I kinda did on your behalf awhile ago....
They politely declined, as they weren't planning to head that deep in. |
Hehehe.
They'd probably enjoy it more out here in the middle of the year anyway, it's gettin bloody hot. |
Do dah
