Alright....

Build BIG fire... Get some coals built up and pack the dutch oven with coals... and then place it inside said Mondo fire... Let it get glowing red and then pull it out and let it cool.

It should be CLEAN now.

Now you liberally coat it with CRISCO and put it in a HOT oven and keep it liberally coated... When it won't soak anymore up... Its done.

got it.

i chicken out with getting it that hot. then i get overzealous when adding the oil/lard. this means that the dutch oven never gets truly burnt clean, but then gets the oil that i put in charred.

bollocks!

If you prefer to mix it up with coke, Sid, then you do not 'love' whiskey.
You better use some cheap azz scotch to put in your coke.
Don't make me come down there, ya hear....

I like whiskey (whisky) a lot, I'm not an expert at all, more an avid amateur
There are some nice bottles in my cabinet.

I once bought my dad a bottle of Knappogue Castle, vintage '51.... (his birthyear) botlled in 1986. The oldest and rarest Irish whiskey in existance (true story, look it up)
Bottle is still unopened.

It's also nice to see a woman who appreciates a nice glass of whiskey (occasionally accompanied by a good cigar).

(this was at least a bit relevant, no? )

Here it is, not to be mixed with coke....

Knappogue Castle 1951, the last of Mr. Andrews’ whiskey that remains available, is now the oldest and rarest Irish whiskey in the world. Knappogue 1951 is a traditional pot still whiskey which means it is made from both malted and unmalted barley. It was triple distilled in 1951 at the famous B. Daly Distillery in Tullamore and was aged to perfection in sherry casks for 36 years.

On the rocks.... never more than 1 ice cube or it waters down the whiskey too much.
And the ice cube is best made from neutral tasting bottled water... (but that's being anal, you can and may enjoy it with a regular ice cube )
