The organic robots are cheap and easily replaced in China

GH85Carrera 05-20-2015 11:37 AM

And very plentiful. They have BILLIONS of them.

GH85Carrera 05-20-2015 11:57 AM

Hey Rick did someone try to run you off the road?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1432151794.jpg

They won't try that again.

Porsche-poor 05-20-2015 11:59 AM

that will buff right out. of the truck anyway.

flipper35 05-20-2015 12:04 PM

So, they only stopped because the roof was obstructing their view of the road?

GH85Carrera 05-20-2015 12:08 PM

I suspect they noticed the steering felt funny.

Porsche-poor 05-20-2015 12:16 PM

Bob always wanted a convertible.

HHI944 05-20-2015 12:19 PM

I just rebuilt the headlight motor on the lotus....
about an hour to get it out, 45 minutes to rebuild it because I suck at brushed motors then another hour to get it back in....

flipper35 05-20-2015 12:23 PM

With his need for adding lightness I am surprised they aren't vacuum operated.

HHI944 05-20-2015 12:33 PM

y'know, it is kinda surprising....but, nothing on the car is vacuum powered.
Fortunately, the headlamp motor is a standard GM part available for ~$80.....and the rebuild kit is about $10 per side.....

Unfortunately, one of the gears was partially stripped. I managed to get around it by flipping the gear. I guess you'd call it the spur gear, and really only half of it is used. we'll see how long that lasts, then I'll order a new gear, it's only about $25

RKDinOKC 05-20-2015 12:40 PM

Ha ha ha, something on a British vehicle operated by vacuum when they have Lucas electrics.

HHI944 05-20-2015 12:56 PM

The only thing Lucas on the car are the actual headlamps.

It makes a good secondary smoke storage device.

Actually a Lotus would be one of the few European cars I would like to own.

So what's the point of fixing the motor that makes them go up and down?

GH85Carrera 05-20-2015 03:04 PM

I came home and had to flip the switch on the thermostat from AC to heat. It is crazy cool outside for May. It is 60 now and supposed to get down to 48!

Evening Y'all,
No Glen that wasn't me, you can tell because the truck actually stopped, someone smacks me square in the front of the big stupid truck I am going to make sure they get to tour the entire underside.
Spent the day in the ER with my son, looks like he might have a torn bowel or colon. He smacked a tree a few years back, broke some ribs and did some internal damage, this looks to be a result from that, the scar tissue is causing issues.
He USED to do some extreme downhill biking, he kinda stopped after that wreck
