I was swimming once and one brushed against me. All I saw was fin, way too close and I punched the crap out of it. Felt horrible when I saw it was a dolphin as it swam away.

I just zipped over to Whole Paycheck to get some more expensive fruit. They prefer to import apples from New Zealand for whatever reason. Not one American apple in the place. Nothing wrong with apples from the other side of the world but what not truck em down from the Washington? Whatever.

While I was in line the guy in front of me was commenting on cool it was here. He said they drove across from central California into Arizona and New Mexico and has has been hot as heck. They get here and it is almost COLD! I interrupted and told him Welcome to Oklahoma City, the Monterey of the central states. I said it is always like this all summer. Just don't tell anyone, it is our secret. He looked at me incredulously (for some reason) and asked "Really?" I broke down laughing and said no, this is just strange Oklahoma weather. It is normally sunny and 72. :D:cool:

He did say EVERYTHING in California is brown and dead and everything is pretty and green here.

I think our overnight low was warmer than your daytime high Glen, and it's still supposed to be winter here

We it is that calendar slippage. I just hope Christmas is not here next week.

It is just strange to go outside in August and it is cooler outside than the house. I like it since the house ac is working fine. Cooler outside sucks if it is 90 inside and that is not the case here.

GH85Carrera 08-20-2015 04:46 AM

Wow, this is Monterey, CA weather. 54 degrees and clear skies and just a hint of a breeze. Heck the view is better from my house rather than that high dollar hotel I stayed at in Monterey. That hotel had a view of the highway just feet away from the hotel.

Pepper likes it 55° outside. Running and dragging sticks around the yard. She's been out there for an hour.

It's one of those days...the kind where you have had to take a crap since you woke up but hit the ground running so fast there's barely time to think straight...

Don't trust a fart!!

Oh Haha 08-20-2015 07:58 AM

Forecast here is a high of only 70 today.

Camber, my last golden, trimmed her own toe nails. Pepper doesn't do that. Sure was convenient. I hate trimming toe nails. I don't even trim my own toe nails. Because of my foot thing have to go to the pediatrist every 3 months so just let them do it. So...Pepper gets to go to the groomer.

Groomer suggested I take her to her friends doggy day car to let her play with the other dogs. Says she has several dogs that have gotten hurt at the dog park because owner's don't know how to handle their aggressive dogs. Says they started the day care so the dogs could socialize but also be managed so they don't get hurt. Interesting.

I succeeded in vacuuming our dog today. He sheds like crazy and I figured "why not go to the source?"

Brushing him just gets clumps of hair all over, even when done outside.

I don't cut his toenails, though. The vet charges $10 and has them done in just a few minutes. He goes tomorrow. Wifey will have to leave the van because he's too old to get up into my truck.

RKDinOKC 08-20-2015 09:48 AM

Carry a ramp for him. Last couple of times I took Camber to the vet had to use a towel for a sling for her back legs to help her walk. Had to lift her 100 lb sack of potatos into the back of the Cayenne. Luckily my next door neighbor saw me helping her walk and helped me lift her.

I let the groomer do her thing for Pepper when I get her nails trimmed. It's $60 total and besides her nails she gets a good bath comb out and the hair trimmed from in her ears, between her toes. and around her butt hole and female dog parts. Keeps her cleaner and less shedding. Pepper really likes it. She gets more excited when I say go to the groomer than go for a ride.

Pepper also started sticking her head out the window and saying "hello" at stoplights when the car next to us has it's window down.

Sorry, just had to talk about Pepper, mentioning Cambers final trips to the vet made me sad.
