Good Friday morning everyone. TGIF!

Fall has finally arrived here. 54 degrees this morning. The first time this fall I have had to move the temperature slider on the Elky to add some warm air to the fresh air vent. Highs in the 70s. Yea baby.

Had a mixed bag of shanked balls

Did smack my drive on the 18th, left myself a 30 metre chip to the green that I successfully rooted. :D

Morning gentlemens

Nearly fart sack time over here

I went golfing with my dad once a long time ago. I smacked the ball off the tee and it sailed about thirty feet.
I whacked the crap out of it again and made it about an additional thirty feet.....
The third whack netted the same result.
My fourth whack cleared the fairway, the green, the road, the tennis courts and landed in the baseball field.
I med Dad back in the car and have never gone full sized golfing again

Looks like we're gonna have to skip some of the water practicals.....apparently they don't think that teaching an introduction to small craft waterborne marksmanship is a good idea in 6-8ft swells. Maybe the weather will blow over.

All sorts of rules about what armament you can have on your ship when in port as well. I think cannons are one of those items frowned upon.

ARs and FALs are the standard.

flipper35 10-02-2015 05:34 AM

Small arms, but they frown on 5" deck guns and the such which is stupid in my little opinion.

So, ya gonna hack the PP presentation to make it more lively?

Porsche-poor 10-02-2015 05:59 AM

Jim Richards 10-02-2015 06:20 AM

Porsche-poor 10-02-2015 06:26 AM

the boss is just now figuring out he bit off more than he can chew.

flipper35 10-02-2015 09:13 AM

That's better than some bosses.

I have to say, I have been pretty lucky when it comes to bosses.

Jim Richards 10-02-2015 09:17 AM

I'm batting around .300

Never attempted to play golf. Have a nephew that is a hot shot though. He went to college on a golf scholarship and managed Pebble Beach until hired away for a high end place called The Preserve. Says when he was at PB he has played golf with a lot of famous people filling out foursomes. Didn't play the pro circuit because he didn't like all the travel. Does very well being a hot shot course manager.

I player one round of golf. I figured 18 holes was enough to see if it held any interest to me. It did not. My first shock was how expensive it was and how much one COULD spend with ease. The only part that was fun at all was the 19th hole.

My dad had to get into golf because it is a unwritten REQUIREMENT for an Air Force officer. Many days instead of getting into uniform he would put on his golf clothes to go meet a general on the golf course. I always was amazed that somehow the generals could get the prime tee times on the perfect weather days on very short short notice. ;) Many high level top secret briefings were done on the golf course.

He played golf on many continents and in many places.

flipper35 10-02-2015 01:08 PM

I have yet to play one hole of golf, let alone a round. I have walked the course many times with dad and my brother in law but never had the desire to whack a ball and go chase it.
