Today they passed out the turkeys. A couple of people noticed the Turkeys have December 2014 stamped on them. The company put up notices and sent out emails telling everyone the date on the turkey is the date the turkeys were packaged and frozen, not the expiration date. LOL.

so its still an 11 month old frozen bird.

For the past few years, we just get a small breast, which I tenderly baste with nipple lube.

I opted out of the turkey this year and will probably opt out of the ham this year also. Unless someone tells me they want mine before the deadline to sign up for it. I used to get two. One for me and one for Mom. Dad continued getting a turkey and ham after he retired, and then Mom kept getting it after he died. I usually gave the turkeys away either still frozen or as dinners. Couldn't give them away last year. Cooked one and ended up throwing most of it away.

For the turkey dinner thing I usually go to my brother's or one of my two nephews. At least I get invited, my oldest brother Bob, the UFO guy doesn't.

When I was down with my foot both my nephews were not talking to each other and both each brought turkey dinner to me. Really made out like a turkey dinner bandit that year.

Just had a NY steak I had in the fridge for 3 days soaking in green chilis and bbq sauce. Cooked it on the grill and it was absolutely delicious.

The scaffold doesn't roll too well on the plastic on the carpet and Thuy didn't think it was too funny to have the boys push me, stupid safety.... ;)

And there are tons of print mediums out there. Stuff that can go on walls, floors, etc. lots of very cool stuff out there.

I worked at one place for two years that gave hams and turkeys. Only two of the years I have worked since 1971. Current place gives a cash bonus on really good years. Cash is better.

Good morning Jeff, or is it?? (morning that is)

Outback Porsche 11-25-2015 01:42 AM

It feels like one of them at the moment.

It's about 7pm btw.

How you guys coping with the sick pooch? Feel for you mate.

Geronimo '74 11-25-2015 01:49 AM

yeah, not so good with the pooch.
He started to vomit blood due to the cancer in his stomach.
So we put him to sleep Monday evening. Very sad and emotional.
He was cremated yesterday.
A shame, he was such a sweet dog.

Heylo (our dog) on the left and her late brother Hemmy on the right.

In the end, they trust us to make the final call when the time has come, so that's what we did. His owner, who is a good friend, was devastated, but he did the right thing.

Jim Richards 11-25-2015 01:52 AM

Sorry to hear about Heylo, G-man.

Geronimo '74 11-25-2015 02:01 AM

Hey Jim,

Heylo is fine, it's her brother Hemmy that was put to sleep.
But thanks for the sympathy. :)

porsche4life 11-25-2015 02:13 AM

Morning guys.... Another long night of painting down. Time to hit the bed for a few zzzs before the morning comes knocking.

Outback Porsche 11-25-2015 03:00 AM

Sorry for your loss G. Hugo plays with two of his sisters (one lives next door) often. They're here so often they're practically family too. We'd hate for them to go just as much as we would if it were our furkid.
