It'd take a little skill to read a stick book, drink beer and drive all at the same time. Sounds like an early Darwin award.

It was back when the boulevard north from our state capitol was lined with motels. The guy was heading north away from there.

When I was in HS we used to cruise up and down the boulevard. The longer the same car kept going by the more girls came out on display in front of the motels for you to make your selection. We used to pull up and ask what they would do for a dollar. We learned all kinds of name calling, cruse words, and gestures.

There was only one guy we knew that actually paid for it. He was a such a dork. Told him to go to a local place called Tracy's Body Spa. He told his Dad and his Dad gave him the money. When he told us about it he said he didn't finish because he pulled one out right before going. He really was a dork.

A bit like asking them if they can get down on all fours and 'baah' like a sheep I suppose.

RKDinOKC 03-10-2016 03:09 AM

Even back then a dollar was insultingly cheap.

Don't think we would have known what to do if one of the girls would have come up, grabbed the dollar and flashed us.

Well, guess I can say good morning. Been up all night monitoring the migration to 365.
As of now, my mailbox is the only one not migrated.

Well, guess I can say good morning. Been up all night monitoring the migration to the new 365 host.
As of now, my mailbox is the only one not migrated.

Jim Richards 03-10-2016 03:47 AM

So Richard, will the entire system come crashing down when your mailbox is migrated? :D

RKDinOKC 03-10-2016 03:49 AM

Most likely because I think the reason it is not migrating is I am already entered as an admin on the new system. Last time we migrated my user, then made me admin. I don't think office likes that. I know it doesn't like deleting users then trying to add them back a week or two later.

RKDinOKC 03-10-2016 04:37 AM

Well my mail didn't crash and am getting work mails...dernit.

GH85Carrera 03-10-2016 05:35 AM

Good morning everyone.

Over the hump on the downhill slide toward the weekend!

Brent I would keep it but...

The reason for selling is I just don't have space. Right now I'm paying $200/month for enclosed storage for one car. Just hurts paying that bill every month! Need to downsize!

And this won't be much good with the new gig. It's mostly newer car stuff. Anything made in the last 15 years with a mappable ECU and turbos is really the bread and butter. I will be focusing on VAG products though, so o may need a GTI for a DD...

Although I have been rattling around a plan for a while to build a sleeper TDI new beetle. Maybe even a convertible. That engine holds tons of potential. 400hp beetle?!? I love the diesel torque too!

Sid, (start geezer voice) back in 1973 I bought a brand new 1973 Super bug for $2,750 which adjusted for inflation is $14,673.85

I paid it off in 12 months and traded it in on my 914. My payments on that old bug were $150 per month which meant I struggled and worked every weekend to make the bucks. You are paying more just to store your bug than I was paying to buy a new bug. It is time to sell it for sure but you know that.

A brand new base Nissan Versa is $12,800 so less money than my old bug. I will bet big bucks that in 43 years no one anywhere will be rebuild and repairing a 2016 Versa. That old bug is primitive in every way compared to a modern car.

Just think of all the gas savings, either from when it doesn't run and when it does the mileage is good.

It may be more tedious, but it beats breaking it.

Glen, in a few years that Versa will be reincarnated as something nicer.

GH85Carrera 03-10-2016 06:36 AM

Yep, and Sid's bug will have been rebuilt once or twice more and still running if it avoids being totaled.

Porsche-poor 03-10-2016 06:58 AM

morning all. off to play nice for a bit.

RKDinOKC 03-10-2016 07:34 AM

I have never gotten any kind of storage unit, or purchased anything that would not fit in or park in the driveway or on the street in front of my property. In my current home I could not fit a scooter in the street in front of my house without blocking the mailbox.

Have space in my drive to park up to 4 cars. But do not like parking cars outside as it ages them much quicker. So would have problems owning more than two cars unless the one or more I had to leave outside in the drive were junkers.

Refuse to use my garage to store junk in if I have a car to put there. My next door neighbor's 2 car garage is full of junk and he parks his cars in his drive. Don't think the total value of all the junk totalled would equal just one of his cars. The only excuse he has is that he grew up on a farm and they probably never had a garage, only a barn full of junk by the look of his garage. His back yard, thankfully behind a stockage fence, is also piled with junk.

And interestingly enough he has 6 different BBQ type cookers/grills/smokers on his patio and uses all of them at various different times?

Porsche-poor 03-10-2016 09:58 AM

today they are taking out all the old computers and the new ones that are not currently being used to ship back east.

GH85Carrera 03-10-2016 10:14 AM

Did you get a more powerful computer or just a different one?

I have one "workstation" and one 11 year old Dell that I use at work. The Dell just pokes along and that is what I am typing this on. I use it for my email and web. Any work get done on the faster computer that is still not real powerful. We have one bad ass machine and it is just almost spooky to use Photoshop and open 3 gig tiff file and have it smoke through any chore with ease. 128 gig of RAM helps a lot.

Porsche-poor 03-10-2016 10:19 AM

Have no clue yet. They plan to trash this one over the weekend and Monday I get a surprise.....

Porsche-poor 03-10-2016 10:27 AM

we asked if the existing computers could be bought they said no. Any new computers will be formatted and re-purposed to charity. All others will go to an industrial facility to be ground up to dust.

flipper35 03-10-2016 10:35 AM

The deal just sounds better every time you post about it.
