I think every family has some form of dysfunction. When you add mixed marriages, divorces, deaths, etc. it adds to the fun.
For what it's worth, I think you are an ok dude Richard. even if you drive a 928. Gotcha!SmileWavy |
Yep he is ok. But do think I will hold the 928 against him as he has not offered me a ride.
For now that ride might be doc style......sitting still making vroom vroom noises. |

I guess my family is weird like me. No divorce except one of my nephews and my wife's two nephews. No mixed marriages, no same sex marriages or such. |
At least the motor is back under the hood!!!
No body will beat this one guy's wife that I took for an autocorss lap. The laughed hysterically accelerating on the straights and screamed bloody murder every time I hit the brakes and all the way around the corner until I got back on the gas. I started to slow down after she screamed through the 2nd corner and she yelled "No no no, Go go go." Right before she got out she said, "Thank you, I'll never do that again." |
Well, we have a motorsickle in the garage now.
No, it's not mine. Wifey's boss bought it a couple of streets over and is keeping it here until he gets insurance on it. It's a V-Star Classic. Looks like a Harley but sounds like a Honda. |

One of my nephews had a motorcycle he kept in the company garage. His wife would have divorced him if she found out about it. He is into training for and running marathons, triathlons, 100 mile runs etc. and many times when he went for a run it was really a ride. My brother even rode on of the Harleys on occasion until his MS effected his balance enough it wasn't safe. The company got rid of all the cars and motorcycles after my nephew that was really the car guy quit. The only thing they kept was the 1948 Ford F1 show pickup. It was first of the collection. He talked them into the 48 Ford F1 because all the company vehicles were Ford trucks the company was started in 1948. But the company wasn't like a plumber or something and didn't even have or need a company pickup until the 70's. Before then the company had a big flat bed utility truck. They mainly used it to haul flats full of parts back and forth to the the platers.
I gave up everything with less than 4 wheels when I broke my leg riding dirt bikes. |
A beautiful day at the rock

Nobody suggested it. When I said something about getting timers for my garage and porch lights and how I would save a whole $12 annually for each bulb by using a $20 timer switch...Nobody suggested just NOT turning the garage and porch lights on unless someone actually showed up!!! That would make an estimated additional $7 savings per year per bulb without having to spend the $20 in the first place. Just leaving them off would save me $57 a year!
More than half the houses in my neighborhood turn on any outside lights at night. I thinking the optimal solution would be a motion sensor that turned on the garage and porch light set so it only turned them on if someone actually pulled into the driveway when it is dark out. I'm thinking this asks enough questions to explore a whole house automation system and what I might be able to do with it and what it might save. |
We have a light on our garage attached to a light sensing thingy for dusk to dawn lighting. Most of our neighbors keep porch lights on to deter crime.
We have my wife's company picnic today. Of course, it is raining like mad with heavy thunderstorms on the way. Tonight my daughter and I are driving 90 miles to the East coast of MI to see my best friend acting in a play. We couldn't find a sitter for both kids or my wife would be going with me. |
We drove up to Enid to see the MIL. The thunderstorms we just in the way for our normal route. Fortunately there are several routes and I figured out the west route was the best to avoid the storms. We still had rain most of the trip but nothing heavy.

Since I live on a corner I have a street light next to my drive way.
Also have a security light in the back yard. http://www.zipbang.com/Photos/GoogleView.jpg So don't really need to have garage lights on. Front Porch is a little dark though. The security light in the back yard was there when we moved in. Turned it off for about a month, now neighbor to north pays half for me to keep it on. Brother's SILs and the house south of them both have the security light shaded so does not light their yards. They claim the light keeps them awake a night. The lady on the west side had me have it shaded your her yard for the same reason, but within a month gave me enough to pay for the light for a year to turn it back on. There is a gate from my back yard into my Brother's SIL's back yard. Their houses are in a gated community. It is right next to the back yard security light. Before they had the light shaded it lit between the two houses so you could go from my back do to my brothers front door at night without any additional lights. With it shaded I use my iPhone as a flashlight if I make the trek at night. Mom used to like to open the gate to look thru to see if my brother was home. If he was home during the day he usually left his garage door cracked open about a foot. One day the wind grabbed he gate and pulled her over. My brother started locking the gate on his side to keep her from "Wandering around and getting lost." She thought he didn't like her checking up on him. Pretty out of touch for living so close. |
Back from the company picnic. As usual, the wife did a great job setting it all up.
Relaxing for a little and then leaving for the East coast. The show is sold out so I'm glad my bud reserved us tickets. |
We are back from MIL's house. She wanted a new phone so we upgraded her from a 4s to a 6s iPhone. Mostly smooth upgrade except her inbox got deleted and she thought that it had a important message. All it was was a confirmation of a shipment.
She is upgraded and trying to bond to the new phone. |

Good Morning.
Pepper woke me up nudging me and then saying, "Good Morning." Then she said, "I want out." Got up and her out, took care of my morning constitutional, then as I walked towards the kitchen she barked at the back door to come back in. Fixed and ate a breakfast snak, gave Pepper some duck jerky. She said "I want it" as I was digging a few pieces out of the bag. Then sat down at the computer to see what was happening this morning. Pepper curled up beside me and went back to sleep. Guess her morning is done. We may have to go for a walk around the block this morning. She would love that. Glen, Ah ha. When connecting up new devices or email clients you gotta make sure it that if it sets up as POP3 that it is set to NOT delete emails from the server because the default for POP3 is to delete mail off the server when it retrieves them. Guess that just shows how old POP3 protocol is. But iPhones usually connect up as Exchange by default? I will go in and remove the 4S from her account. Jeff, is that your Outback Yard? Hope it's winter there, not much green. On the good day side...Not a cloud in the sky! |
Wow, that was such a good nap I thought I slept all night and it was 8 in the morning not 8 at night!
|
The new phone was just restored from the backup of the old phone. It had everything set up the same except entering some of the passwords.
My wife was showing her mom how easy it is to mark all the email and delete it. She thought she was in the trash folder but she was in the inbox. |
I've deleted whole folder of drawings off a raid array like that. Good thing I had backups.

Mornin'.
We had a blast watching my friend in the play. It was "Escanaba in Da Moonlight" by Jeff Daniels. Laugh out loud funny! Long drive there and back but worth it to see how much he had onstage. I'm off to swap out coil springs in friend's old Mercedes today. |
