Good not Monday day. It kinda feels like a Monday but that is over.

We have several RAIDS here. We use them all as network RAIDS. Tow of them or just 8TB and have been running fine for years. The oldest computer we have is a Win 2000 machine running a one TB RAID with hot spare through a SCSI interface. After 16 years it just keeps plugging along.

This is a gratuitous photo of my car. The only reason I am posting it is to get the horrible images above off of Tapatalk. Tapatalk for my phone pulls up the last photo in a thread and displays it on the feed. If I go to Pelican and just want to check out any post as scroll past this thread, that horrid photo is displayed.

Itchy payback is a bastard to get rid of and usually requires a needle of penicillin

Gotta go make sleeping noises. Have a fun day, Night all SmileWavy

Had a programmer that used to work at our company that really really liked those fat chick pictures. He had 3 or 4 calendars and several posters on the wall in his office. He was weird.

Porsche-poor 01-03-2017 07:13 AM

Morning all. I'm back from vacation and want another one!!!!

Hope everyone had great holidays.

flipper35 01-03-2017 07:16 AM

Hopefully they weren't fathead posters!

I virtualized everything here to pare everything down and with the high availability if one of the hosts died we would still have all our servers up. We have a lot of DB access but the CPU time is always low. We do need to up our storage soon. One company wanted us to buy the chassis from them and they would populate it with 48TB for "free".

RKDinOKC 01-03-2017 07:44 AM

Luckily they didn't have fat head back then.

I gave up on trying to get the IT department to do anything that made sense when they refused to upgrade the drafting network from 10mb to GB, and it was just one switch. Couldn't make them understand they were accessing big graphics files for catalogs and literature.

Later they upgraded it for Solid Works file access. And only because the solid works consultants said they needed to.

Welcome back David and hello to the crew. SmileWavy

My colonoscopy is tomorrow morning so I get to start "prepping" in a few hours. yay

I already spent time in the thread pertaining to that so I know what to expect.

GH85Carrera 01-03-2017 10:35 AM

The operation or the procedure is a piece of cake. The prep is the suck part.

The best part is you will be under doctors orders to FART. He does not put a time limit on that order. So let er rip tater chip! You have a free pass to fart proudly. Under doctors orders!

Porsche-poor 01-03-2017 11:07 AM

Good luck. Done it twice now. I might be up fro number 3 this year.

Funny how they will listen to consultants that don't really know your infrastructure.

GH85Carrera 01-03-2017 11:27 AM

That was weird!

We were just doing our job here in the building and it was like the scene from the first Jurassic Park when the T-Rex is walking up. The ground vibrated and there was a loud booming sound, and it was much like foot steps with a short interval in between booms. It got me curious enough to go look out the front door. There was a sim-trailer trying to back up into a business down the street. The rear bumper was dragging on the concrete driveway from the steep angle. The rear wheels of the trailer were too far forward. The driver got out, and released the rear wheels. He got back in the truck and pulled forward and the wheels stayed right where they were but the trailer moved ahead. When he got the rear wheels to the back of the trailer he got back out and flipped the lock and then backed up the rig and there was clearance since the trailer overhang was minimal.

The rear bumper must be STRONG and STOUT and well built to make that much racket scraping over concrete and not bend backwards. THe concrete driveway is well built as well or it is damaged now.;)

It is astonishing how loud and booming that sound was.

Oh boy, what fun you're gonna have, Wayne. :D The prep sucks, but the procedure is a cake walk. I had mine a few weeks before Christmas. Three benign polyps removed. Get to do it again in 5 years. Lovely.

I have had several Roto-Rooter or Mr. Rooter guys to my houses over the years. None of them ever looked like that guy. They were all 20 something high school dropouts that knew their job and fixed my problem, but were not the guys to use in the photo shoot. More like the tow truck drivers or junk yard employees.

Oh Haha 01-03-2017 12:31 PM

Thanks for the pic Jim!

I just took the Dulcolax pills. As Al Bundy would say "Let's Rock."

Outback Porsche 01-03-2017 01:41 PM

Morning all.

Have fun Wayne. I was able to cope with 5hitting non stop, it was drinking all that salty water that was the real struggle. Pills sound much better.

Outback Porsche 01-03-2017 01:43 PM

Clocked up 30years on the missus yesterday, woohoo

I have to start the solution at 5pm. 3 liters in 15 minute intervals. or is it litres?

Congrats on the 30 year mark!
