Rickles et all, what clutch should I put in marilyn, since she has thrown the clutch throw out bearing and has been languishing in the garage for a couple of months, and need to order stuff, I might as well go and replace all moving parts, but I want a smooth operation, not quick, not sudden, not sharp, smooooooooooth

Oh joy. Woke up this morning with my right eye bleeding. So pretty much going blind today as it starts dispersing. If I don't post, it's because I can see to read any more.

Already have an eye appointment for this morning. Won't help much though. It has already bleeded enough to fog my vision. Maybe not too bad, maybe 20/50. Still gonna suck though.

If I get a shot it will be blurrier the rest of the day.

Guess I will be blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.

Glen, his car was a Saturn. It did have 240k miles on it. We had a Stratus with the 2.7 that developed a rod knock at 167k miles but those were known for sludge buildup so that wasn't really a surprise.

Richard, sounds like you need to go all BOFH on your IT Director. Did he move up from sales? Sorry about the eye, hope it clears quick.

I don't do work email on my phone either but I can understand those that don't want to carry two devices. I don't check work email after I leave the office anyway. If it is important enough, someone will call. If not, it can wait until morning.

Saw this at the car show and though of Glen. The Glen here, not the Glen that works for me.

morning all. day one of the new meds lets see how long this one takes to rear its ugly head. Yes I have no faith in the things working and not messing up my life.

That El Camino is typical of many. There seem to be one extreme or the other. Either the poor thing was treated like a real work pickup and just beat up and rusty and dented and worn out or turned into a show car only.

One of my friends spent crazy money on has El Camino and had a perfect black high gloss paint job and 600 HP engine and massive brakes and made it un-driveable because it was too nice.

There are very few like mine. A reliable daily driver that looks nice. My dash is shot from 31 years of sun. I need to get some interior trim fixed up but that is pure cosmetics. Mechanically it is 100% working as good as original or better than original. Every system works.

Seeing emails is not the problem. It's sharing any sensitive information that might be in the emails once they have left the company.

Judging by the crap in the wheel wells I am sure that one is driven. There were others I am sure were pushed into the building and placed just so above the mirrors. Don't care for those. OK, there was one car that I am sure was pushed in but would be fun. It was jet powered and I am sure it would have made a mess to drive it in.

When I get a minute I will post some of the ones I could appreciate. I think I already did the General Lee.

I bet your new engine make it a completely different vehicle to drive then the OEM one.

There is a guy that comes to the 928 events that keeps his 91 928 GT in immaculate condition including the underside and wheels wells. But he also drives it. I bought my first 928 from him.

There was a Red 928 I saw at a bank I went the the drive thru ATM close to work often. It looked like a show car, but it was his daily driver. That was the red 90 928 GT I bought, and it was his car before he got the 91 he has now.

He has a lift in his garage with a drain under it just for cleaning his car. Now he is branch president of a Bank of America in a small town.

Eye doc thinks I am doing better. Hadn't gotten a shot in my right eye for 6 months. Says that is really good.

The 350 I put in is the base cheap $1,700 engine. Not much more HP than the 305. More torque for sure. No major difference except now I get 2 MPG less than the 305. The biggest difference is from a dead stop on dry pavement with the 305 there was zero wheel spin. Now I can get the tire to chirp a little if I felt like it. I have done then like twice since installing the 350 back 52,000 miles ago.

I did replace the 305 manifolds with a 350 manifold from a pickup. The new ones are larger and I had a dual exhaust with x pipe installed.

I looked at the hundreds (literally) of engine options for 350s. Everything possible from the base line 350 I bought to new LS7 engines are just drop in easy. Of course with more HP I need a stronger rear end. And of course a stronger everything else from the driveshaft to the brakes and suspension. I just wanted to drive it and not build a race car.

Last night we went to Sam's for another fruit run. They really do have some darn good fresh fruit.

Of course if we go out I "get" to buy dinner. It is great to buy dinner for the two of us for a whopping $3.03. We have one Nathan's hot dog each and that is plenty. I was curious so I looked up the current record. Joey Chestnut ate 73 of them in 10 minutes. That is just staggering. It takes my wife about 10 minutes to eat one. 73 is just beyond belief. And to do it in 10 fricking minutes!

Bet I could consume 2 hot dogs in 10 minutes. A third one would be pushing my comfort limits and require some AlkaSeltzer afterwards.

The other day I smoker grilled some hot dogs with hickory chips and put some BBQ sauce on them instead of mustard. Tasty. But then again, as a kid I like ketchup on my hot dogs instead of mustard.

Did like diner/cafe hamburgers with just mustard. Where they toasted the buns on the grill while cookin the burgers.

Specifically remember sitting in a small town cafe with my Dad and Grandad when I was 4. I had a cheeseburger with just mustard and Dr Pepper. My Dad and Granddad had pie and coffee. The juke box played the song "Who wrote the book of love." The cook came out, said he had some fresh swamp rabbit stew, asked my Dad and Granddad if they wanted any. They laughed. When I asked they explained it was muskrat, but that didn't help me much as I didn't know what that was any more than swamp rabbit. When we left my grandparents my Dad stopped and filled up at a particular gas station. We didn't usually stop for gas visiting my grandparents, but there was a gas war on and gas was just 21¢ a gallon.

I thought you also went from carbs to FI with it. I was thinking just drivability, not power.
