And what are you supposed to do with this evaluation?

flipper35 07-11-2018 01:46 PM

I have no idea. We did another personality test with similar results and did nothing with it. We are having a directors meeting to discuss is, so maybe we are to discuss it to discuss it so we have something to discuss at the discussion.

Porsche-poor 07-11-2018 01:51 PM

so a meeting to figure out when to hold the other meetings.

flipper35 07-11-2018 02:00 PM

Unless we have a pre-meeting first. We used to have those at the last place I worked. I asked if we are already here why not have the real meeting instead of a meeting to develop the agenda for the meeting that we are meeting about so we can meet at a later date with the agenda from this meeting.

That looks like yet another Human Resources wet dream. New personality evaluations, new self-evaluations, new evaluation methodologies, new personal development plans, new rating philosophies, yada, yada, yada. I despised it as an employee, and loathed it as a manager. I'm so glad that rubbish is well behind me. iHasta la vista, HR pukes! SmileWavy

I no longer have to deal with it either. After the buy out I am not in charge of anyone.

RKDinOKC 07-11-2018 02:33 PM

Was sent to a management class that was the same sort of drivel. They were dividing everyone up into introverts and extroverts. All they did was tell us how to piss off the different types of people.

Me to, not a manager any more. But still have to deal with P&C, Poo and Crap department with all their rules for idiots. All as I can say is, they sure have legally entrenched their department into the corporation.

Stijn!!

My HR department called and had the results of my personality test. We all decide perfection is hard to beat and they bought me a Sam Adams for being so modest. [emoji6]
The rally banquet was continuing. I already know the Toomey’s won for the 18th time in the last 23 years. They will finish with the awards about 11. Last night wrapped up at 11:40 from what I hear.
We left at 8:20 and they were not even starting on the 40 or so classes of awards.

The event was held at a Cigarette boat dealer. They had several 800k and up boats in for repair. I will post a lot of engine porn when I get back home.

I am at a speaker demo for KEF. They have a free Sam Adams and decent music. I bit of the modern electronic side for my tastes. It does sound good. I would love to hear Funeral for a friend by Elton John as a total test. That is a great song for stereo and speaker tests.

Off to a drive and compare soon. In the past they had a 911 to drive through a course. Now it is just a drag race. Just a launch.

I think part of it is the amount of turnover we have in some departments. The problem is lack of consistency with disciplines and lack of competence at the supervisor level and until they start treating everyone the same, there is going to be resentment from the people that work hard seeing the lazy people tattling on the hard workers for not getting work done that the lazy person is supposed to do but is on lunch break.

Also, why would you rehire someone that lost their job for not showing up to work?

But yes, this is from HR and our HR department is now 4x the size of when I started here. I do have to admit that our new Catbert is trying to get things back on track, the DiSC thing was started 6 months ago and before she got here.

flipper35 07-12-2018 06:32 AM

Glen, I am not sure your HR department is unbiased. Just sayin'.

RKDinOKC 07-12-2018 06:56 AM

It's not called HR anymore. They call themselves P&C, People and Culture. Whatever that means.

The computer department changed to Manufacturing Information Systems, MIS. Then just Information Systems, IS. Now it is Information Technology, IT. At least each of those make some sort of sense.

flipper35 07-12-2018 07:09 AM

Ours is still HR here. We are IT but it used to be Computer Operations Management.

Got the motel for Spiceworld in Austin. Early October this year.

Porsche-poor 07-12-2018 08:51 AM

morning all. ours is "People and Culture Development". So far all they have developed is a way to get 4 engineers to find other work in the last month.

RKDinOKC 07-12-2018 12:24 PM

At our IT meeting yesterday the IT Director had something important to tell us.

"Seems they have laid off or let go of the employees that knew what they were doing. And the people they are hiring don't have a clue how to do their job."

This is coming from the guy that took anti-spam/anti-virus away from the guy with 28 years experience and gave it to guys with only 3 years experience onein netoworking only and the other mananging on-site email.

P&C's answer is offering training in handling your 401K, and Time Management. When I was working in production there was nothing about investing my 401K money or Time Management that would help me do my job.

Going to have to find another dermatologist. Appointment was at 10:30am. She walked into my exam room at Noon.

Then I had to go to the Pet store for diggue treats, grocery store, and stop for gas. By then it was 1:30, but HOT...95°F!

Before I got cooled down had to go the my brother's and help him with his apple support call. Don't understand why he is reinstalling the OS on his computer to fix his phone. Just now got home at 2:20. And didn't get my brother's iPhone fixed because bro has doc appointments from 2:30 to 5:50.

Our HR director is a wonderful hard working, witty, and funny person. But looks aren’t everything.

GH85Carrera 07-12-2018 12:41 PM

The ceiling in our room is really elaborate.

That would be great as long as you don't have to worry about guano.
