Pulled a lot of cars out of bar ditches.

Once it was very icey and there was a 4x4 Toyota with two wheels dug into holes the size of the wheels with a bronco chained to it that had been trying to pull it out. Backed up to them and hooked a keeper strap to the front of the Bronco. While they were still standing around talking about how stuck they were, climbed into my Jimmy and pulled them both out at the same time with nobody driving their trucks. Unhooked the strap and took off. It was beside where a street had a steep hill that went up and over railroad tracks. Got going 60mph and jumped Dukes of Hazzard over the tracks with the windows down laughing and yelling yeee haw.

A great day for it - only 41C right now

Jeff, when I was in San Diego several years ago one of my buddies went to play golf. He said he pulled up and looked around and there was only 3 or 4 other cars in the lot. He went into pay the fees, and asked if they were indeed open and the guy said sure, it is just really host and no one want to pay in the heat. He said it was only 85 degrees. (29C) and my friend's mouth fell open. He then told the guy he had been Texas the weekend before and the course was full of people playing in 106 F heat (41C)

He decided the local were a bunch of wimps. He loved the cool mid 80s temps for golf.

I have played one round of golf. The beer drinking was the only fun part of the entire event.

RKDinOKC 01-15-2020 06:17 AM

Sounds like me and flying R/C. Went to Atlanta and found a local flying field. The wind got up to 8mph, they all quit and went home. If you only flew r/c when the wind was under 8mph you would almost never fly in OKC. Flying only gets spotty when the wind goes over 25mph here.

Morning everyone. I have played golf back in the days of under 21. I found that I sucked at it and it tended to be expensive to play and be bad at.

GH85Carrera 01-15-2020 09:30 AM

Yea, golf can be crazy expensive. One of my friends retired, and had a very healthy retirement pension, and was very well off. His goal became to pay at the major PGA courses all over the country. You can't just walk up to Pebble Beach and say you wanna play. You have to have a member invite you. Same with places like Augusta and any major course. Between airfare and greens fees and hotel bills he was spending lots of money, but having a ball. If I had that much money to waste I would have a GT2RS Clubsport, and a big ol tow vehicle-camper and go to tracks all over the country and wear out race tires.

flipper35 01-15-2020 09:42 AM

I golf on the Wii with the kids, does that count? Aside from that, I have never played a hole. I have never had much interest, though I understand why others play.

If i had that kind of money I would have a piston powered Lancair Evolution, a Fountain boat and the other block for the Cobra finished and Avon tires for it.

A nephew played Golf. He got a scollarship that paid for his degree. He was the course manager at Pebble Beach for a while. Now he works for a group that put golf courses in that have zero impact on the environment around them. Supposed to be a big deal. The first one they put in is next to a national park nature reserve. It is called The Preserve and includes big houses all around the course that the grounds are managed along with the course for zero environmental impact.

All I've ever played was miniature golf.

Have zero plans or desires for having a large sum of monies. Just a boring dude.

I am so boring I don't have a bucket list, just a solo cup list.

GH85Carrera 01-15-2020 12:20 PM

Golly, looking through 20 years of photos is fun.

At least I have the duplicates of the backups of the copies of multiple copies of some files deleted. I guess I would find an old folder of photos, and back them up again and a gain.

There are some images I know I have somewhere, but I can't put mu hands on them, or my mouse pointer on them. There are here somewhere! I will dig them out yet. 4 TB of photos so far and that is after I deleted a bunch of duplicates.

My brain hurts now after looking at some images multiple times. I do have a crap load of pictures of my 911, and Parade trips.

My life is terribly exciting. Take this morning, for instance. I got up, exercised, ate some brekkie, and drove over my son & DIL’s house. I changed my grandson’s diaper, played with him for a half hour, and for the past hour or so, I’ve been trying to keep him snoozing so his parents can have a break. I think another diaper change is waiting for me in a little while. Exciting!

GH85Carrera 01-15-2020 12:33 PM

I am happy to announce I have never once changed a diaper. I have no plans to try.

Jim Richards 01-15-2020 12:49 PM

I’ve done a few.

That's a long way to drive just to change a diaper. You must really enjoy that.

RKDinOKC 01-15-2020 03:26 PM

Have not changed a diaper, but have had my brother crap in his bedside commode then leave for the weekend on a friday evening. The next day I involuntarily puked walking past his bedroom. Just emptying it fresh wasn't too bad, but after it has had a chance to set, pew eeee.

Have heard of a couple of people lately not flushing for a couple of days of use to save water. Just can't see how that wouldn't stink. Even if you used that perfume stuff that was supposed to leave a film on top of the water. That would be like those people that put used toilet paper in a trash can beside the toilet.

Would think that if you wanted to save water just put some bricks in the tank to use less water per flush. My toilet you can push the handle then let go, it only lets enough water go that exchanges the water in the bowl. If you need more, just hold the handle down until as much is flushed as you need.

Grandma always kept a little clay tchotchke that looked like sombrero on the tank, it was a match holder in the hat part with a brim to set lit matches on to let them smolder out. Think it was a carryover from her outhouse days. I flush with the lid closed, open and spray with Fabreeze pet odor eliminator, then leave it with the lid closed. Not only is it good feng shui. cousin has has a rat come up into the bowl, and a friend's family member a snake.

After a few hundred (thousand?), it's not a big deal to change a diaper. It's just a part of life. Changing pad, flattish surface, sufficient wipeys, and a clean diaper--done in a couple minutes. As long as the kid doesn't keep on pooping as the diaper is being changed (or as long as I don't run out of wipeys), it's not a big deal.

Noah930 01-15-2020 07:40 PM

OK, just calculated the number of diaper changes I've possibly done. I estimate my kids have a had a cumulative 12,600 diaper changes in their infant/toddler lifetimes. Even if I only performed 10% of them, that would put me at over a thousand diaper changes. 20% would be about 2500 of 'em.

I love it when he waits until I get him cleaned up and start to get the fresh diaper ready and then he projectile sharts all over the place. Toss in a sudden urge to charge up his little fire hose and wash down the wall. Yeah, it’s great fun.

My best friend from college once told me that with her first child, she remembers her husband getting up to do a diaper change in the middle of the night. All of a sudden she heard him cursing under his breath, "G-dmit, will you f-kkng stop sh-ttng!"
