Our high was just 53 today. I refuse to accept that after April 15 I should NOT wear shorts. So shorts it is!

We went to a great Italian restaurant at 1 S Broadway. On the corner of the intersection of the center of downtown. It was for carry out of course. I went in to pay and the manager was in the corner chatting with another patron from several feet away. The manager said he was in a sweater and I am in shorts. I told him that like white belts it is always ok after Easter! The food was great. Burp. And we have leftovers.

Happy Saturday all!

It is getting harder to keep the days straight.

Did the BBQ thing. Am stuffed and have leftovers.

Pepper got a toy and crawled up on the couch instead of brining it to me. Does that mean she is stuffed too?

The USAF Thunderbirds just flew over.... honoring Virus workers.
On their way to the AF Academy graduation.

Very cool.

I have been lucky enough to have seen the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angles more than once. The precision flying is always cool. It makes me just wonder at the speed and power of those machines. One stunt they like to do is have one aircraft sort of vanish and as the main group is doing something in front of the crowd, one lone aircraft drops down a little lower and comes blasting over head from behind us. It is like he appears of of thin air. And I am always happy he is on our side. If we were the bad guys and he wanted to drop some ordnance we would just be gone with no warning.

I saw a SR-71 take off in Hawaii as a kid and I had never heard of it. It looked like a extraterrestrial ship compared to any other aircraft. One air show in Oklahoma City had one fly in after a few low passes, and it was on display. That was everyone's favorite.

RKDinOKC 04-19-2020 11:54 AM

Last airshow I went to a B2 did a low fly over. Don't know what was more impressive. The exacting time they flew over having already gone to the west coast and back or just how quiet it was. Much bigger than I thought.

By comparisson the Harrier was obscenly ear damaginly noisy. Despite it's VTOL capability don't think it was very stealthy at all.

Mertnin.

Another work-at-home week begins. It's 54°F this morning with a high of 70°F. Seems we are into real Spring and Shorts weather!

Have got some leftover Chopped Brisket for lunch so think will Charbroil a burger, top it with some chopped brisket and BBQ sauce and some onion. Will even toast the bun. Will accompany it with some steak fries. Pretty good left over fare.

Isn't it odd that BBQ doesn't have cheese on it?

Happy Monday everyone. I actually had to check the calendar on my computer to be sure it was Monday.

I have been conscripted by the mean ol boss to do his wife's digging and hauling today. The back patio looks like a gardening center, and the corner area of the driveway looks like a lawn and garden center. I got to haul her to the local gardening place to fetch 10 more bags of Cyprus mulch, two bags of egg size rocks, and other goodies. Then we went to a second place to get two more flats of plants.

Today we start planting, and not all of it goes into our yard. A lot of it goes into the neighborhood association's gardens at the base of the brick walls with the neighborhood name on it. The old bushes had become old and had some fungus. So those were removed by a team of professionals. Now I get to dig in the spots full of roots to plant the new stuff.

When all of that is done, I will "get" to mow the yard. Gonna be a fun day.

Oh goodness. In my master bath the toilet has a wall directly opposite and can use it to catch myself getting up and down. Tried to use my guest bath. It has handles on the sides of the toilet, BUT there is a tub directly opposite the toilet. Almost went head first into the tub. Luckily didn't grab and rip down the shower curtain! It was a close call.

Supposed to do a virtual gut doctor visit this week. Not sure just how that is going to go since he really can't poke a prod virtually.

My lawn and landscaping is in terrible and mostly overgrown shape. The work on it for the last few years has been done by my nephews kids that just don't care. Lucky to just get the grass mowed when it gets too tall. Still have a lump running across my front yard where they replaced my water line.

My maid hasn't been here since the lockdown started. Tried doing some cleaning myself and it sure don't take much for me to get unstable and lot more of a fall risk. Took me all day just to load the dishwasher, and I use paper plates. And no, I don't wash paper plates. It is why I hired a maid in the first place.

Beginning to thing it looks like an old man that can't do anything lives here. Strokes suck!

Morning all. This might be the first week of not much to do for work. Might catch up on reading.

RKDinOKC 04-20-2020 07:58 AM

Enjoy the liberation!

Ended up letting my dog in and out more. Don't know why she has to come get permission when the door is already propped open for her.

He will tell you what to do with your finger and tell him what you feel.

RKDinOKC 04-20-2020 01:26 PM

He may ask me to do something with the camera on my phone?

GH85Carrera 04-21-2020 04:53 AM

We got to work on the 4 different flower beds of the association and we started on the hardest one to do as it had grass that had invaded the bed. As anyone knows, if you want a solid growth of Bermuda grass, put up a border and plant some flowers and make it into a flower bed, the grass will invade.

So we dug out some of the grass, and got into the sprinkler system, and broke a piece of pipe right at the connection of a 1 inch T fitting. So I had to dig down to the bottom of it, cut off the old T, glue in a new 1 inch T and then a reduction to 1/2 inch on one end, to a head. That slowed down things for a while.

The second bed went easy. It was getting almost to 1:00 so we quit for the day and will hopefully finish today. Golly it was fun.

The gut doctors virtual visit app only works on my phone. They don't have a desktop app. Makes me wonder what they expect me to do with my phone? Maybe I will wish I had one of those really small ones, 5SE. Brother has that, this may be why! Appt. is at 9:30am.

GH85Carrera 04-21-2020 05:34 AM

I still have my old iPhone original. It is lots smaller than the 5Se. But you ain't gonna borrow it for that!

I do have a borescope that hooks up to the iPhone via WiFi and an app on the phone. We can soak the end in alcohol afterwards! But I ain't gonna help ya.

RKDinOKC 04-21-2020 07:06 AM

That was interesting. Just a chat. Made an appt to look into both ends. Hope they don't use the same camera and go butt first.

flipper35 04-21-2020 07:19 AM

Hope the light is strong on the phone!
