WTF: Campagnolo has been sold...

...to Sanrio, the makers of Hello Kitty?

Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone heard about it?

Oddly, both cycling forums I go to are down tonight. I read this rumor through a blast email from a retro grouch cycling forum I belong to.

I mean, WTF? How does this:

equal this

The most I've read is family infighting caused the sale. Still, if true, it's completely bizarre. Personally, I don't believe it. I just wondered if anyone else heard or read this.

Is SRAM made in Japan as well?

No. Made in California from what I know.

Well, that's a relief...

Well, at least maybe I can get some decent Record stuff for cheap now...

That is really weird.

I can't wait to see you all on your pink Hello Kitty bikes...

Porsche-O-Phile 07-29-2009 01:29 PM

If they have good Campy Record components, I'm fine with it. Hell most people think cyclists are "ghey" anyway because of our clothes, so what's a few more confused looks...

Make sure to hang a red handkerchief out of your back pocket!

Finally, some components of sufficient quality to replace those on my Colnago.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1248901828.jpg

Diluting the Hello Kitty brand. Shameful.

tallbike? lets see the rest! (didn't know Colnago was making these - can Joe Breeze be far behind? It's a beauty. Love the seatpost collar.)
