Diluted sample result from drug test

I had to take a drug test for a new job. The results came back diluted negative. The company hired me anyway and stated I would have to take another test later. Well, I just took the retest. The lady at the center told me 'it' looked pretty clear and may come back as a diluted sample. I drink a lot of water but only had one glass this morning. I always pee clear. I may be the first person in history to get fired for drinking too much water. :(

Just curious if anybody has had a similar experience. WTF do I need to do? Dehydrate myself to pass the test?

Let the woman hold the cup! or have her do a body cavity search before you go in to give the sample. Is she good looking??

What kind of a job is it?If it isn't national security don't worry about it.

be consistent and deliver a strong result, companies like that.

so , dope up, you want uppers, downers, and anything between
Make a bold statement.

The fact that the general population does not hydrate properly should not be an issue for you.

I'd stick to my regime and it is what it is.

If it becomes an issue ask them if they are advocating you purposely neglect your health for whatever period of time it takes for them to issue you the next random test?

Copious amounts of vitamin B-complex will make your urine glow yellow.

And stink like asparagus to boot!!!! :)

Some people check osmolality as a reference for dilutional cheating. Take a good multivitamin for a few days before your next test. Oh... and put down the crack pipe. :D

I'd respond by drinking coffee and eating asparagus until the next test.

Yes, they look at specific gravity as well as creatinine concentration. Adding water will not fool them, and using dog urine won't either. In your case, plain ol' dilute specimens......not a problem. They'll just keep asking you for specimens until they get one that is not dilute. Often, the procedure includes "observed" collection so they can be certain it is your urine. That's where the nice-looking nurse with the large breasts comes in handy.

don't worry. Lots of folks drink lots of water. Good for you.

add Methylene blue to yer piss

i did that in school once, when we had to go for yearly medical checkup, which involved peeing in a cup...

dropped the powder, it turned green with blue flakes, handed it to the nurse, and while i shrugged , told her, i don't know why it does that, it happens every once in a while...

nurse was seriously confused.. but the doc caught on to my prank real soon...

Net result : another 2 Saturdays suspension added to my schedule..Which didn't bother me one bit, as i simply didn't go to em...

Asparagus will only add the thioester asparagen to the urine (in those who lack the asparagenase enzyme) and will not really "concentrate" the urine much. Coffee has a diuretic effect and will further dilute the urine.

Yes, but it will SMELL wonderful. SmileWavy

What Supe said. No such thing as a "diluted" test if you aren't adding water to the sample after you pee.

And what are you now doing in Tennessee?

Rikao4 07-29-2009 11:48 AM

stick with Moses and & Supe..
your kidneys are very healthy..
all samples are split at the lab..
so both would come back diluted...
diluted does NOT mean your 'dirty'..
it's ph,creatine,gravity & temp...
you were just a bit out of range..

No attractive nurses. Obviously you guys have never been in TN! The girls are starting to look more attractive, but I've been drinking more and may be acclimating to my environment. :D

So basically stick to what I've been doing and see what happens? I'll give them a clear sample every time.

Kurt: I came up here for a long weekend and decided to move here. Absolutely gorgeous.

BTW, I am about 15 minutes from the Tail of the Dragon. If anybody is ever in the neighborhood, I have a couch and tools if you need them.

svandamme 07-29-2009 12:11 PM

so these piss tests as far as i know, generate more false positives then false negatives.
I would object to such testing, considering it's crappy results, an demand they either run a full blood test via a lab, at their expense, or stop bugging me for my piss.

cgarr 07-29-2009 12:12 PM

Just put a stool sample in there next time!

Rot 911 07-29-2009 12:19 PM

Brian I have been both a prosecutor and defense attorney, no such thing as a "diluted" sample if nothing has been added to the sample after it has been taken. Period.

Schumi 07-29-2009 12:43 PM

Somehow I've never been asked to take a drug test for a job.

I thought most places require a hair sample for a drug test, not a urine sample?

Eating a ton of beets will turn some peoples piss red. I bet that would throw them through a loop, and you don't have to deal with the disgusting smell that asparagus creates.
