The Hurt Locker

I highly recommend seeing this if it's playing near you.

Excellent movie about EOD in Iraq.

This was quite an interesting film. Not really very realistic in a strictly technical sense, but well crafted in a storytelling sense.

I do recommend it.

I can't really comment on the technical side, but it does an amazing job of portraying the overall tension of the situations, without having to rely on music as a crutch.

Yes, that is true.

Not only did I see it, but I now know a lot of EOD guys. From a tech standpoint parts caused me to groan a few times (a 155 round weight over 100lbs each) and there were two scenes that should have ended on the cutting room floor.

But otherwise a good film that presented a properly ambiguous take on war. It is neither pro or anti, it rather is about men and how they deal with insane situations.

I have to say that if the situations they portray in the film are in any way accurate, I give our soldiers a hell of a lot of credit in their restraint. Even my wife made the comment that if she were driving back of disarming IEDs and some little kids were throwing rocks at their Humvee, she'd jump out and start shooting.

It is a long tense movie. Not a feel good date movie but a good flick.

There's a vid of that happening on you tube and the one soldier is going on and on for about 20 minutes how they should be able to cap the little fkers, especially after the windshield gets taken out by a rock.

War, what is it good for?

Technological advancements in ways to kill people. Really cool airplanes. .50 caliber rifles, machine guns.
