You know, I really want to contribute to your threads but I can never relate. I suck at cooking and I really suck at shooting.

Well, you must have some skills. List them and we can find common ground.SmileWavy

I'm great at writing checks. :)

You need something rare... something unique...

I'm thinking a single shot .257 mag or a WSSM .25
...

I've always loved rounds the size of a BB pellet that can pass clean through a truck :-).

i have a .257 wtby...decent round.

just so we are clear, i also LOVE knives. way less complicated than a firearm. i buy my knives, i wont DIY a blade. how do i live with myself? geez!

cantdrv55 07-31-2009 09:22 AM

Knives, like the Ginsu? Just kidding. Still can't relate.

See! I knew we would find common ground.

How do you write your checks? What ink do you use? Are you using any anti-tampering technology on your end? Or just the standard bank supplied check paper?

How about signature? Do you use a elaborately complicated signature for all checks and legal documents? Or are all of your signatures the same?

Let's also explore the pros and cons of electronic checks. Do you use them? How about EFT (electronic funds transfer) to pay bills or just large expenditures?

Are you still using checks for everyday purchases? Or do you use a debit card or cash? How do your state regulate debit cards?

That leads us to discuss direct debit? Do you pay any of your bills that way?

What about check book balancing? Are you the only person writing checks out of your check book? If not, how do you ensure accuracy? Are you obsessive in finding that last missing penny?

Let's explore.

In addition to carving my 911 parts from solid blocks of aluminum, I also make my own checks using pulp from trees that I have cut down and processed with a custom knife, which I also made myself.

I think I know what is missing from you other guys' lives:
Everything changes when you accept the power of a three-wolf shirt.

Buying a single shot rifle? Building a single shot rifle?
Flick that... you'll be smelting your own ore and building a belt-fed mini gun - if you can keep the women at bay long enough to get some work done.

Seriously, on a pure function standpoint, it's hard to beat Ruger firearms...

I actually would enjoy the power of a three-wolf shirt. It just is taking a longer time than I initially thought.

I searched for a long time to find the ancestral proto-proteins that led to wolves. After much effort and time I had primitive DNA and I could really begin to rock! A few hundred million years later I finally had a good wolf. Using that wolf as a model I learned to sketch. This was a problem. First off it was difficult to make charcoal that was uniform in texture. I experimented and developed the mortar and pestle to facilitate this process. Then I found out that the tree bark I was using was not optimum in texture so I started from scratch with the early proto-proteins again. Finally, after a few hundred million years again I had a better tree bark! Oh, *****! The damn wolf has gone wild. So some time passed while I dreamed up the skills to track and trap a wolf. Ok, back on track now. After mastering the ability to sketch trees and rocks and such, I realized that the damn wolf would not hold still to be sketched. Double damn! I was beginning to lose patience for this magical shirt. Never the less, with much labor I created a gas to put the wolf to sleep. Wow, mining, smelting, discovering metals and their properties, creating the entire casting, molding and machining process from scratch can be time consuming. I did have a lot of trouble with the machine tools. Every nut, gear, bolt, lever, cam, surface finishing, heat treatment (great! I needed a heat controlled furnace!!!!!), washer, knob (found out how to make plastic!), shaft and the different types of materials needed like fine cast iron and high carbon steel took time. Don't get me started on the work I did learning about steam power and power transmission with leather belts! With the gas now flowing and delivered to the wolf I was on my way at last. OK, a sleeping wolf just does not convey the majestic power I was really looking for. Crap! I studied other wolves and tried to prop my sleeping wolf up in similar poses. OK, I have found out just how long the sleeping gas works. Working very hurriedly, I melted sand to make glass, made glass molds for petri dishes, through trial and error found a good growing medium for the various molds and bacteria, built and developed a climate chamber to speed up sample growth, and almost died from infection before I have penicillin in sufficient purity to stem the raging wolf bite infections over most of my body. I was sorely disappointed in my quest for a three-wolf shirt and the power it would bring me. But, even though I was becoming somewhat impatient, I decided that drawing would not do it for me, nor painting (although I did manage to find that natural pigments mixed carefully allowed me to capture the landscape in some remarkably sublime watercolors!), I tried sculpture but I was a little shy in getting close to my wolf now and that never progressed beyond simple life size bronze or marble pieces. How was that going to get me a three-wolf shirt? And the amazing power it channeled? These musings of despair led my down a road that took me a long way away from my shirt lust (I craved the power and as a poor substitute, I dabbled in creating simple blackpowder (bang), and then smokless powder (bang!) which drew me to developing my first high speed explosive dynomite (BANG!!). At this time filled with some minor irritation towards my wolf subject I hunted them all to extinction (yes that took a little while with firearm development and all such stuff). Onward and upward I climbed towards greater power which finally saw my first thermonuclear blast! (BANG de BANG!!!!)
Racing against the clock (first all I had was a sundial, then a marked candle, then a sandglass, then mechanically weight driven, then spring driven, smaller and smaller (gosh darn those parts are small!), then electronic (oh, when I think of the time I spent learning to discover electricity, anodes, cathodes, diodes, DC, AC, smoking components, fried flesh, hair standing on end, heart stopped!!!!!!!!!! and finally (it seemed like lifetime) started again) until I finally had accurate one, my first atomic clock) I knew I had to learn the skills of radiation treatment fast! After, discovering the benefits of iodine, blood transfusions and bone marrow replacement, I had to teach someone else these skills and equip a laboratory, test on animals and develop techniques on humans, all before I could partake of these therapy. Now in the somewhat clearing dust clouded day, deep in my buried bunker, bald, skin peeling, red eyed and unable to keep food down, I realized I had lost the path I needed to take to obtain my three-wolf shirt and it’s amazing power. So I started again with the search for the proto-proteins to develop my wolf.............

My first mini-gun was impressive to look at, since nobody before me had used live beavers to carve a twin mini from solid old-growth cypress trees. I found it to be a less than adequate performer, though.

It took much research before I finally discovered the problem. In retrospect, it should have been obvious; or maybe it's only obvious now because I have accepted the power of a 3-wolf shirt. In the photo, it is clear that I am wearing a woefully inadequate voodoo-skull shirt. Perhaps the only thing that allowed the early mini-gun to evolve was the kick ass leather jacket.

These days, things are different. Just as nothing in the clothing world can match the sheer awesome power of a 3-wolf shirt, nothing in the small arms world can match the mind numbing volume of lead being sent downrange by a 3-mini tripod.

No more beaver-gnawed cypress here. Only world class parkerized steel.

You man that baby while wearing a 3-wolf shirt and there won't be a dry pair of panties within 100 yards.
