Captain Pissgums

Underground comic from the early 70s written by S. Clay Wilson. Anybody remember it? My uncle was telling me about it to explain why he has a dog named Fatima the Dyke. I was looking on eBay but there don't seem to be any copies. Anybody know where I could pick some up?

This might help to find more on the subject.
Maybe you've walked this route already. I just wanted to find out more on this guy and thought I'd share.

ZAP? R. Crumb and others? I've got a short stack of those...

Sorry, don't remember captain pissgums...

From what I read (random articles provided by Google) it looks like Captain Pissgums and his Pervert Pirates was a feature in Zap! comics and was not serialized. First appearance, Zap! #3, 1968.

Perhaps they are still available through Last Gasp Book Store (lastgasp.com).

I guess if I was 8 or 9 that would be funny stuff.

I have a hundred or so of the genre, most published in San Francisco early 70s, all those authors and more. I have ZAP Nos. 0,1,2.3.4.6.7.8. The only Clay Wilson I have is 1967. I do have an R. Gum 1968, the first SNATCH COMICS. After that he used his name. Mr. Natural 1, 2, 3. BIG ASS 1 and 2,, maybe 15 by R. Crumb. et al. If I knew their value I'd consider selling. There's a market for these on e/bay?

porsche4life 03-16-2011 06:23 AM

I have no idea about the value. My uncle was telling us the story and I thought I would try to hunt some of them down if I could.

And what does it say nota? That I am trying to do a nice thing for my aging uncle? Sure nit something I would be tracking down otherwise.

Classic gay porn comics....

I was more of a fat Freddy and the fabulous freak brothers fan.

If you could find a San Fransisco book store that specializes in comic books you might have some luck.

(No bias they just happen to have a lot of esoteric book stores in S.F.)

Geez - as I kid, I read Batman, Spiderman, Superman, and the like.

I guess I lead a sheltered life! :)

Judge me as you please, I really don't give a flying schit about what someone on the interwebs thinks of me....
