Well, after months of searching, I finally got my hands on a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 for a reasonable price chambered in 9mm that accepts Glock magazines.

The Good:

This is a purpose-built rifle with no frills. It works with no issues. The fact that it folds in half is pretty cool. I used it with the included Glock factory 10-round mag with no issues, and with a Glock factory 33-round mag with no issues. Once I got it sighted-in, I was consistently throwing multiple rounds in the same bullet-hole.

This rifle was also extremely easy to disassemble and clean. The fact that the barrel swings up makes cleaning it VERY easy. All of the action slides out the back of the rifle, leaving a clear tube

The Bad:

The recoil sucks. I don't bruise easily. I shoot a single-shot 12-gauge shotgun with a hard pad without bruising. This gun bruised my shoulder. Part of it is because I had to raise the gun against my shoulder to get a good sight picture so only 1" of the stock was resting against my shoulder.

It was also dirty from the factory. It was obvious that it had been test-fired and not cleaned. The sights were also WAY off. It would consistently shoot 3" low and 2" left from the factory. Fortunately, the sights are adjustable and I think I got it "okay" at five yards after 100 rounds. As this rifle is strictly for shoulder-fire duty, I don't think I can get it much better.

The Ugly:

The flashing had not been trimmed from the plastic molded parts. I suspect that this might because this rifle appeared on a Brady Campaign "wish list" and they were suddenly sold out overnight. I spent a little time with a razor and some 2000 grit sandpaper to clean up some of the edges.

I'm not sure if it's the type of grease used at the factory, but it appeared that there were little flecks of brass all over the inside of the rifle. I hope this was the grease, because the there isn't any brass used in the internals of the rifle. (It all appears to be some kind of treated steel.)

Finally, the front sight is a piece of DayGlo plastic. This in itself isn't bad, but it appears to have pitted and changed color a little when it came into contact with the gun cleaning solution that I use.

Am I happy with this rifle? Yes. I like that I can use my Glock 17 mags with it. (The rifle is also available to accept Beretta, Sig, S&W, and Kel-Tec magazines in both 9mm and 40 S&W.) It is elegantly simple. I paid a what this rifle is worth right now, which is a little more than it will be worth in a few months. (In other words, I realize I paid a little bit of a premium for getting it now. Like AR-15s, these are slowly becoming more available with time.)

I have already purchased a slide-over recoil pad for it. I think I'll probably also get some kind of aiming laser so I don't have to depend on the crappy sights.
