Need help with Old School RC stuff. So I have an old Team Losi Stadium truck and I was gunna play with it a little bit but I seem to have some elec issuses. I plug the battery in and turn the controller on and the steering is responsive but no throttle. Occasionally it will run the motor FULL out. It has a Team Novak Speed controller. Is there something wrong with that or are there just 2 wires crossed? Oh what takes rubber burn out marks off of linoleum? |

It's an electronic speed control. Any chance you need to setup the controller again? If the marks haven't melted the floor, then any floor cleaner will work, a little elbow grease too ;). |

I don't believe those older controllers were 'programmable'. Typically they just worked out of the box, no 'setup' to be done. Of course if you cross the wires they allow their smoke to escape. To get burn marks out of linolium you simple get some tile and follow the manufacturer's instructions. At least that is what about 10 previous owners of my house did... |

Well I think the issue is in the controller after a little more messing with. |

I've seen that happen when the battery was too low. |

Could be that the throttle servo is acting up. My XTM stadium truck had a similar situation with the steering servo. |

If the speed control is working I agree with with 71T that your battery may be low. I raced, sold and worked on Tamiya, RC10's, Team Losi etc. for 10 years back in the 80's and early 90's. |

I had just pulled the battery off the charger. I think it was an issue in the controller which is now completely dead. |

Are you sure the battery is good? They go bad if they haven't been cycled or charged for a long time. |
