Need to replace DSL modem - Is there a "best" product?

I have a Zoom wireless DSL/Router combo unit that is crapping out. I really don't use the modem or the wireless features, since I really have the network setup on another router.

The DSL unit loses the connection and hangs. I reboot it, and sometimes it takes 2 or 3 reboots to get it to work. Pretty annoying.

Anyway, id there a brand of DSL modem that works better than the rest? Negative suggestion are also good.

I like Netopia. Mine will be 10 years old in a couple of weeks. It's on 24/7. Though, being that it is ten years old, I have no idea how their quality is now.

Red-beard, if I can find my old Zyxel modem, you can have it.

I think I have three old ones sitting in my closet. If Wolfe can't find one, you're welcome to one of mine.

FWIW I use a Zoom myself. The wire functions are great and I do occasionally use the wireless function (laptop down in the garage, etc.)

I found one, never used, in the attic, a motorola 2210. I was basically wondering if any newer models would make any difference, be faster, more reliable, etc.

The 2210 is up and running. I'll report back if this seems to have fixed the problem.
