Just got in a sweet 92' E30 convertible!

I had a old codger trade in a excellent condition 1992 E30 convertible on a 08' 3 series. I forgot how much fun these old E30s. And you never see the the plastic bumpers w/ the vert top (only made in 92'). Just a nice blast from the past.

It's for sale on his site. C4C money. I'm seriously thinking about it!

BTW, Terry, it's "Lancer", not "Laner".

For what it's worth, the plastic bumpers were offered in '91 as well.

Everything I own is for sale!!! Care for a nice slightly sweaty t-shirt?

What the heck is C4C? I'm not that hip on internet Ebonics anymore

Thanks for the edit.

Huh, I could have sworn it was only 92'. I'll have to freshen up on E30 history.

Nah, that's (probably a very fair) retail price on his site. I was asking what it was worth in the real world.

It's no biggie, i'll figure it out myself when i get closer to pulling the trigger. I'll do my buying at Bordentown auto auction(gigantic wholesale auction in my area). I really want an M3 'vert, but it'll depend on what's there.

C4C= cash for clunkers, ie, $4500.00

I thought it was '92 only also.

I'm guessing you meant '92 and that the car is NOT 92 feet long.

And '93.
1993 was the first year for the new e36 chassis but only for hardtops. Verts were still the e30 chassis.

It may be similar to the early M5s though. They sold leftover '87s as model year '88s.

Not that this matters but you're off by a year. '92.

Actually, they didn't sell '87 M5s in the US. They were '88 models. Like the E30 M3, they had an early model introduction and a portion of them were built before the August holidays in 1987. So, not leftover '87s, just early '88s.

Carry on,
JR

Yep, the e36 coupe and sedan came out in 92 but the cabrio stayed with the e30 body style. 93 they switched the cab to the e36.

North American M5s were manufactured from 11/86 through 11/87.

Carry on.
