has anyone ever repair an alarm remote control?
Mine is an old one FCC ID: A269ZUA092 P/N - MODEL: SEC-8401. At first, I thought my alarm is sucking battery so fast, but then I realized new battery won't cure it for long, maybe a week or so. It flashed and reset itself. Sometimes it flash and die. If I unscrew to open it up then put it back together (reseting it), it'll be fine for a while (several days maybe), then back to the way it likes to be.
Anyone seen this? What component should I look into if I want to play with it? Thanks ![]()

There are companies out there that repair/refurbish these. Not sure if you/I (e.g. commoners) have what it takes to repair.

Find a kid near the Forum in Inglewood. They can scan your code, and dup it in a brand new remote inside of 15 minutes.
True, but seriously..... Isn't Alpine still in business? Try finding their website, or go to one of those car audio/alarm places, they can do anything. One in Hermosa sold me a replacement (one button) remote and programmed it for me for $35 a couple of years ago. |

I'm afraid I was being facetious. The car theives at the Forum are notorious.
Check out any of the specialty alarm/audio shops in LaLaLand. They'll know how to replace your remote. Doubt anyone will fix it unless it really obvious anyway. Cheaper to do the China thing these days... replace the fob. |
