How do I jump to page 7?
Most of the good threads go on for many pages. I regularly want to continue reading a thread but I either have to go to page 5 then skip ahead or start at the last page and work forward.
I there a simple way to pickup reading a thread on page 8 of 12 pages? I thought about doing a search and I could not think of a good term to search for starting on a higher page. |
"Next" is your friend.

Click on the down pointer after "last", then type in the desired page number.

go into user cp and change the way the threads are posted. You can have the last post become the first.
Use cp Edit options Thread display click drop down and change |
I guess I did not make my question clear. When I have been reading a good thread and I remember I had read to page 7 and then I log off. Imagine that I actually go do something useful like my job or drive home or some other activity that is off-line.
Now I come back to Pelican and I see the thread I was reading has been HOT and I want to continue to read the thread how can I just start on page 7. I can click on last page but if that is page 12 I have to surf a lot of pages to get back to page 7. How do I just start reading on page 7 or 8 of my favorite thread when I return to OT? |
Append
&page=7 on the end of the URL on the first page of the thread. It will go straight to page 7. |

That gets it done in two steps. I just looked at the "King of the Hill" thread. It is over 250 pages. With your trick I can just open page one and then append the page number I want and be on my way. I knew that there had to be a better way than going to the last page and then jumping back several pages at a time. SmileWavy |
In case you misread Tom's post....
At the end of each page in a multi-page thread, you: Click on the down pointer after "last", then type in the desired page number. JR |
+1 on the little triangle next to "last".
