Porsche Museum/Factory --hotel recommendations?
Posted over in the 911 Technical forum by mistake...
But we'll be taking in the Museum on Sunday with a Factory Tour the following Monday morning at 10 a.m. (Sept 6 and 7). Ideally I'd like to stay within walking distance Sunday night, preferably at a place that has parking where I can leave the rental until the tour is over Monday around noon (I was cautioned about parking...or is it not that bad?). Does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel and perhaps a good restaurant?

We went to the museum a few weeks ago. Don't worry, it's just a few steps as there is a trainstop at Porscheplatz. It's right outside the museum. If you're driving, they have a HUGE parking garage as well. The parking at the OLD museum was pretty bad, but NO PROBLEM AT ALL in the new one.
![]() Be sure to go to the M/B museum AFTER you go to the Porsche museum...After touring both, you'll thank me.

I don't recall there being any hotels within walking distance there.

There are a handful within about a 5-minute walk.

We just got back from a trip to Germany, we did the MB Museum, Porsche Museum and BMW museums all are brand new and amazing and are worth visiting if you have time. Definitely go to the Benz museum as it is probably the most spectacular overall.
We stayed at the hotel Azenberg in Stuttgart, not walkable but an excellent little boutique hotel with a great pool and spa included, and the most enormous breakfast that was also included with the room, but the hotel is about a 15-20 minute drive from Zuffenhausen. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187291-d232577-Reviews-Hotel_Azenberg-Stuttgart_Baden_Wurttemberg.html Have fun!

I've stayed at the Millenium in Stuttgart several times. It's close to the airport. It's very close to the HUGE spinning Mercedes symbol. Not sure if that's close to the MB museum or not. Always had a car, so I can't comment on public transportation. Hotel is very nice though as far as hotels in Europe go. If I'm in Stuttgart, I'll stay there until someone shows me something better.
