this has been a long time coming---

while there have been those who have said they're done (and returned) over at the other forum, it seems my time has come.

the forum is a good source of knowledge and has many "likes", but the dislikes have become too much for me to continue.

the section that I post on has for some time now become ruled by the few, and mob mentality ensues if there is a differing opinion (of whatever).

members are constantly dictating how one should operate there, but fail to obey their own rules that they impose on folks they don't like--clique behavior at it's worst at any given time.

when John Dunkle started the website, he envisioned a passionate exchange between members/non-members, but he did want to see some civility. A good poke in the eye shouldn't cause WWIII. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

I took a near 5 month break from it over there, only to return to the same nightmare of sniping and a couple of guys not being able to handle a bit of sarcasm/criticism throw their way. History repeats itself.

How very sad that John's dream has turned into a s***pile for the few.....:(

cheers---

One time I asked why that other place advertised for Motor schiester, nearly got my head bit off. Seems you aren't 'sposed to question the dunk.

Aint been back since and haven't missed it.

yep, should have ended my presence over there a long while back.....

I bailed when "porschefans" collapsed (after it had breifly replaced "porschephiles"). I didn't like Dunkle's "vision" for what up until that time had been a self-policing mailing list.

Don't worry, you'll learn to dislike this place, too!! :D In the same kind of way Heroin addicts dislike Heroin.

LOL! Great analogy there!

I used to be a regular on that other site. It's a circle jerk of epic proportions. Supposedly the king of the double-standard over there ("super moderator" Randy V) is now history but who knows for sure. I've poked my nose over there maybe 5 or 6 times in the last couple years just to see what some old acquaintances are up to, but never had much inclination to stay or return. It's still the same old cliquey orgy of groupthink that it always was. No skin off my butt.

I've heard it really went downhill after John D. sold out. Is that possible?

I left Bannlist long ago (with quite a boom!) and have not been back since.

I'm back on the sidelines...again. ;)

I thought you were talking about PARF. Or were you?

Pelican started the 930 forum around the same time they sold out. I left and only go back when I wonder what cars are for sale.

I haven't been there in almost a year. But they used to have a great 993 tech forum, better than the one here.
