Conert for Bangladesh

since i lost my job last month, ive been packing my house and drinking beer and listening to my concert DVD's while doing what i gotta do to move on to chapter 38.

doing so, ive rediscovered this concert. but mostly, ive rediscovered Bob Dylan's performance in this concert. wow!! im one of those people that think Dylan is about #2 of the last 100 years of art and entertainment but, neglected this show forever.

if you have it, select on the remote: tv-WIDE and audio track 2, and blast it.

the only bummer is that George Harrison's incredibly sweet countrified licks are waaay too low in the mix. if you listen carefully you will hear him playing slide so tastefully and perfect behind his friend Bob. its beautiful and Dylan is fkin awsome

any Dylan fans see "I'm Not There" ???? loved it. soundtrack is killer

IIRC there's a great version of Hard Rain? Yes? I still have the box set vinyl form my older bro.

I think Dylan is God.

But I hated "I'm Not There".

Self-indulgent and superficial twaddle—I thought. Biggest cinematic disappointment in years for me.

hmmmm. i thought so at first. hated some of the acting. but i loved the soundtrack and i love the way the film was edited with the soundtrack...i viewed it as one long music video. i watched 4 times in the weekend i had it from netflix. the first time i put it on, i turned it off after about 30 minutes and said it was rubbish...

Yup. The soundtrack...You can't argue with that soundtrack.

But the whole thing was billed as the definitive bio-pic about his awesomeness—and it turned out to be just a series of tired cliches about the man. Absolutely nothing new or interesting.

Dylan detractors loved the film because now they can say "see, he is a cliche..."

true. nothing new. same old stuff.

as a huge dylan fan and being familiar with every drop of dylan footage and interview in existence i had to take it with a grain of salt and just enjoy the images and music and not think too much about it

i would be willing to bet that dylan hated it, if he even bothered to watch it

as far as bio-pics go, i thought it was an interesting and daring approach...though it may have fallen short in some ways.

He did watch it, and he did hate it.

But because he has some skin in the game, he has a bit of a conflict of interest about coming out and saying so.

Some interesting articles in the music press about this—which you can probably google.

Steer clear of those hungry women...

PS: So if Dylan is #2—who's #1?
