Valenntine & Escort question
Does anyone know if the connectors for the escorts and valentine radar detectors are the same?
Reason, my truck is hardwired for an Escort, I have the Valentine in my WRX also hardwired. Can't find the Valentine cigarette jack cable.. If I connect the Valentine to the Escort wiring... will I let the smoke out? Both are phone jack type connectors. |
I'm pretty sure that the V1 is a straight through phone cable. So maybe you can find some info on the Escort and compare.
I'd be cautious, even if the cables use the same pin-out, the pins may have different functions. |
test the outputs of both with your multitester...if the fitting fit and the readings match..bingo.

Its easier to ask here :p
|
all escorts have exactly the same connectors, 1 intake, 1 female, 1 exhaust
they only differ in price, function, and possibilities depending on the price, the function may change, as will the possibilities |

As soon as I clicked "post" I knew the title of this thread would open ups some interesting remarks

You don't give the model of the Escort, so this was the first diagram I found.
http://pinouts.ru/CarElectronics/escort_detector_pinout.shtml I give up on the V1 search. I found a diagram for that a while back. Search for old posts with Rick Lee and the V1. |
I think it was an Escort 7500... someone decided they wanted it more than me so they broke the window and took it
I'm going to break out the multi meter and check the pin outs |
Newsflash!!
The pin outs for the Valentine and Escort radars detectors are DIFFERENT need to rewire my truck now |
