Wow!
I like the "v-10 in a box" :D

Whtnkls911 08-22-2009 07:43 PM

Wow! That is incredible, someone has wads of cash on tap.

HardDrive 08-22-2009 08:06 PM

That thing must be a monster. Looks tough and tight.

Jim Bremner 08-22-2009 08:07 PM

Do want!

oh any info on the rustbucket 'stang behind it?

mike55 08-22-2009 08:16 PM

Is that a BMW V10 (5l) or some other crate motor? The fuel injection setup looks great.

porsche4life 08-22-2009 09:38 PM

I want to hear that beast run.

Beat me to it...looks like a Bullitt replica

can't help but wonder, is it cost effective,
will it be cheaper/better then buying a new M3 or maybe M5?

The build is really impressive, and i'm sure the V10 will make that thing haul ass.
But will it be as balanced as something BMW would make in terms of handling and performance?

Rick V 08-23-2009 12:59 AM

I'm just glad they didn't cut up a original E30 M. They are getting very hard to find and I have a soft spot for those cars.

dd74 08-23-2009 01:30 AM

Strip out an M5 and be done with it. SmileWavy

onewhippedpuppy 08-23-2009 03:49 AM

Very impressive. But I suspect that they also lost a lot of the E30 M3 goodness. I'd be very interested how it drives, now with a massive V10 out front and an entirely new chassis and suspension.

Oh Haha 08-23-2009 05:05 AM

Wow.

Two things boggle my mind:

1. The craftsmanship is just astounding on many levels. The talent to do that type of work is amazing.

2. Some dude told that shop "Hey, make me a V10 E30 and here's my checkbook".

GothingNC 08-23-2009 05:15 AM

I'm Drooling:eek:

Dude, i suspect the first time you mashed the go-pedal you'd forget all about the OEM "E30 M3 goodness" of which you refer. :D

Jim Bremner 08-23-2009 10:22 AM

Anyone who worries about the "balance" of that car just needs to re-learn some driving skills.

A little slower in, you can throttle steer the car, & a heck of a lot of torque to drive the car out.

I can't stand the way a viper v10 sounds. The BMW V10 has a hell of a nice sound.

I would love to know the corner weights of before and after.

svandamme 08-23-2009 10:43 AM

that's all good on a flat tarmac road, but the road where i go nuts in my bimmer aren't flat at all.
And that's when you do need a balanced car... No amount of skill can compensate for a poorly configured car...

I'm sure they made a really good effort, but the folks at BMW do it for a living, and they do test a lot to get their results...
So again, money spent on this, vs money spent on a factory M3 or M5... cost/effectiveness...
I'm not even talking about depreciation over time...

m21sniper 08-23-2009 11:16 AM

What could be more unbalanced than a rear engined RWD car?
