Which Nintendo DS?

My daughter has a DS Lite which she got used from a friend. After lots of hard use it no longer takes a charge or powers up. So I go to ebay to find a used/refurbished one and am overloaded with choices. Should I get another DS or is there something out there better that will play the DS lite games? I figured someone on here would have the answer. Thanks!

DS is perfect for the younger set.

Nintendo build family friendly product.

If it's in the budget spring for the new DSI. She'll be able to play DS games on a DSi but not the other way around.

She is only allowed to play it when we travel so looking for something a bit cheaper than the new DSI, but thanks!

I sell a used machine every month or so. If it won't power up with the power supply I would suspect it. I haven't seen any units that wouldn't take a charge.
I didn't know there was such a thing as a 'DS lite game'. Would I know one if I saw one? I move few dozen games/month.

My 9yr old is on his 2nd DS. The first he has had since they were released. We replaced after the screens faded to the point he couldn't see the games. I think just replacing the DS would do you well. I would suggest that refurbished may be the way to go. You probably want to know that what you are buying is not just used but has had any problems fixed before you purchase. Remember kids own these and they can be hard on their things. If you buy just a used one you may get one with the same problem or another problem.

If you have a Game Stop or EB Games in your area go in there. they will have used units and if there is a problem with the one you get they will replace plus you may be able to trade the old one in for credit for the new one. You can also trade any games your daughter doesn't like anymore for credit toward a new ds or game.
