needed help on suzuki LT 185

I just bought 2 suzuki 4 wheelers seller thought he had a pair of lt 125's but the one that is in better shape is a lt185. it is missing a carb and the fuelpump/petcock. I need to find those parts any thoughts on where to search? the 185 fired up with just a spray of carb cleaner 1st pull so promising. the lt 125 has some major ticking though it sounds like valves. it runs reasonable so good buy non the less for the pair. just want to complete the other one

E-Bay is probably your best bet, although patience may be required. Here is one that already sold. Just conduct a search and "save" it. You will get an e-mail every day for 6 months if the desired part shows up:

And there are currently 4 active listings for "LT 185 petcocks":

cool! I will keep searching.. I may take the carb off of the 125 so I can get the 185 running. then I can confirm its in the best condition.

There are also tons of on-line motorcycle junkyards. I don't have links, but I think a Google search should turn up quite a few.

If you can measure the thread size/pitch of the tank outlet, I'm sure you could find a new petcock that will fit.

IME junkyard petcocks are wasting your time.

Good luck!

the problem is I need to know where all the hoses are suppose to go and need the pump that attaches to that.. I think I am going to switch the carbs to make sure the 185 runs good enough to warrant the money spent

You can still purchase a petcock rebuild kit from Suzuki and have a like-new unit when finished.

I just looked and the 185 does not use a fuel pump like the 125 does so maybe just missing the collecting screen cup? found a carb for $75 now just need to decide if the 125 is worth fixing as the 185 works great though I thinka bad lighting coil and man the DG pipe is loud and I don't like that

found some carbs either way you look at it I think i will end up spending about 100 on the carb. thursday I need to take a look at the 125 ticking issue see if its worth more money or not

Check out "bikebandit.com", they have parts for everything and their website is a lot like waynes with parts diagrams and such.....it should show you exactly what you need to know.

Edit.....just saw someone posted them above :D

Thanks I have bought from them before and I find the website extremly easy. my biggest issue is to not turn my 2 four wheelers for $400 to 2 1000 dollars machines. the 185 runs perfect and drive the same. the plastics are near perfect and shiney though the lighting circuit is not working yet. the 125 is near perfect as well though that ticking bothers me.. I will have to look at the valves on thursday and see if that can be adjusted out otherwise that may become a parts f4 wheeler.. Both need oil changes at the very least
