San Diego

I will be going to San Diego in Oct, having about four free days.
I know I want to go to the zoo.
Any other suggestions?

We all had a GREAT time there. I'm sure you will too!

New at the zoo a mock tar pit and around the corner new areas for the lions and elephants, impressive.
Family dinner/full bar at Albert's in the tree house, reserve the table outside by the waterfall. ;)
My flat iron steak was perfect.
You'll just miss fleet week and the PCA DE and vintage races on the Coronado/NZY airfield.

I spent the night on the Midway with the Scouts - definitely worth a visit.

Also, check out the Fleet Museum in Balboa Park.

One of my daughters been nagging me about going to San Diego for years. Why?

They have Panda bears. :)

Markus - if you ever visit the states, leave the worst of the winter behind and spend some time in San Diego. It's hardly ever not in the 70's.

Thanks for the great info. We are looking forward to our visit.

ted, markus is hosed now, unless he has the sense not to show that link to his kid.

That's okay, you will like San Diego Markus. You can see the Pandas, go north to Disneyland, then a little farther north and see Hearst Castle, and so on.

I recommend this to everyone that goes there, I have only been there once but found some cool stuff.

There is a Karl Strauss Brewery downtown, great place for a Beer or four and dinner. Around the corner is a W hotel, the lobby is awesome but upstairs on the roof is a really cool bar with a heated sand floor and going barefoot is encouraged.

Have fun!! The zoo is awesome BTW.
