can anyone recommend a fantastic immersion blender?
my plastic, and very old braun finally broke. i need a replacement...
not sure i can justify the $$ for a Bamix. any other great models? |
Get another Braun, have a 400 watt one that pretty much kicks ass, I use it for everything, making cream cheese spread, smoothies, pretty much anything that does not require cracking ice, easy to clean up.

I went with this Waring model and am thrilled with it. Powerful and quiet, large enough for big pots of soup but not unwieldy like some of the huge commercial units.

Very happy with my Kitchen Aid
Or you can hook up a paint mixer to a cordless drill. Same effect!:D |
VitaMix. No question.

Nevermind. I missed the key word of "immersion". Carry on...

We picked up one of these several months ago on Woot for dirt cheap:
http://www.morphyrichards.ca/index.pl?ORPGM=productOverview&ORPGT=perl&ORPRD=48 952&ORGRP=R13&ORCAT=SR04&ORLID=ENG It's a well known brand in the UK and Canada, but not here. Maybe a Canukian Pelican would be willing to put a box in the post for you... We don't use it nearly enough, but it's heavy with lots of steel, and comes with some nice attachments (like the food processor bowl). Seems to be a much higher build quality than the standard white plastic ones. |
