junior women
In my business I'm expected to ID everyone I trans-act with. So today I'm copying down a woman's info and I see 'jr' at the end. My place not exactly being like Sears or something so I can inter-act with the customers, I ask wtf is with that? (I did phrase it a bit differently) She was a bit perplexed about it herself, said she was hoping to lose it when (if) she got married. I encouraged her to keep it,
Anyone else know any jr women? Jim

I've heard of it, and thought it was kind of different/cool. Sort of like "Joe Smith and Daughters Plumbing", which I've seen a variation of in the past.

Sounds like ID theft to me. Are you sure her name wasn't "Joe Smith, Jr."?

I've known a same-named mother/daughter with different middle names, but they left it at that.

Our youngest daughter is a JR (junior) with the exact same name as my wife. It took the school system 10 years to finally get it right and the government to get the fact that my wife is a SR (senior) after she had that added to her name. Not sure about all states but in CA it was not questioned, but then out here not much is......

Nope, not necessary. We called the CA dept of records or whatever it was called back in 1982 and they said there are 6 to 8 queries per year on naming a girl a JR after the mom and usually 1 or 2 do it.
